come on then, name the players who have played for Pools over the years who you thought were well over-rated by all and sundry.

I'll start with

Tommy Miller and Andy Monkhouse

I think he's a good player too, I just don't think he's as good as some people make out. One person had him under the 'best player we've ever had thread'

Obviously I also thought Tommy Miller was a very good player, just not to the extent some people do.

So TM's a very good player, bit overrated?

Almost a stupid a remark as the fool who once said 'Yes, but most of his goals have come from pennas'

I think he was very good, but most people thought he was sublime, excellent, out of this world, unreplaceable etc.

Hence I thought he was over-rated as I didn't think he was any of those things.

Not too hard to comprehend.

I gather that, but he was excellent and to a degree unreplaceable, have we had a better attacking midfielder since?

But its all about opinions I suppose

Agreed

He only really looked good in a bad team.

Wouldn't have had a sniff of first team action here in the last 6 years or so.

Exactly, so what are you chuffing on about?

I'd say Sweeney gave far more to the team in the season when he got 16ish goals than any of Millers seasons so therefore I'd say he is replaceable. I also think Gary Liddle will be just as good if not better than Miller.

Andy Monkhouse has only played about 25 games for Pools so I can't see how you can say he's over-rated!!!! sctatchinghead

I think he had an excellent half a season for Pools....just a pity he'll be missing the first few games of the new season!!!! sadx

He's one player in the team who I'm really looking forward to watch next season....he excites me!!!!

Gary Jones joined Pools after getting the golden boot with 28 goals or something then couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo.

Tony Skedd quality when the crowd egged him on but not a very good footballer.
