Unless we sign a couple of experienced defenders our stay in the national league will be very short indeed.

Even I am shocked at 2 points from a possible 15.
The truth is that the players who get you relegated are not going to be good enough to get you promoted back!
The newbies needed to be much better than the ones that they replaced if we are to survive in the NL.

Part time sides look fitter and better organised than we are. I've only seen us against Maidenhead and bromley but we look totally out of our depth in this league. We've bought the wrong players (no fight, no conference experience, no pace, no wingers) and are being made to look like amateurs by electricians, plumbers and PE teachers.

Radio Tees today - Pools free kick

Commentator - Donnelly and Deverics both stood over the ball
Commentator - Don't know why 2 players have to stand over the ball at a free kick
Commentator - Donnelly runs up , steps over the ball, Deverdics runs up , Deverdics strikes it
Commentator - Oh ! Deverdics hasn't got it over the first man YET AGAIN !

Clueless !!!

Well said poolieboydave! Will you be at Ebbsfleet, Dover, Daggers, Orient, Woking, Maidstone etc?

Our club has been in steady decline for a number of years. Defeat at home to Blyth Spartens and the inability to beat Salford at the first attempt in the FA Cup were indications that our full time professionals were below the standard needed to perform effectively in EFL 2. We are now playing non league teams every week and the results are just as bad as those embarrassing FA cup matches. The point I am trying to make is that the rot set in years ago and things have been consistently bad for some time.

It was a mistake to give any player more than a one year contract until they have proved their worth playing for HUFC. We are now stuck with sub standard players with time left on their contracts. Ideally the new manager should have been able to have a complete sort out and recruit a decent squad. That is not now possible and merely surviving in the National League is the only hope this season.

They are fitter. A lot work as personal trainers and go to the gym every night of the week, not an hour and a half up at Durham running around a few traffic cones. We need leaders, fighters, characters , we have none of that. Enough of our players have National League experience, but they probably weren't the tough guys in their teams, with maybe the exception of Magnay. As you say, he has bought wrong , big style, but imagine he didn't have much to spend, contrary to what he is reported as saying , about having biggest budget in National League, find this hard to believe.
