Was hoping the first reports of it being a balloon on a mic or a speaker were true...

Just heard a bloke ringing BBC news, the explosion blew him off his feet, reckons about 30 unconscious or dead in the foyer.

Awful.

My immediate awful thought as well is that the majority of people at her concert are going to be kids.

This world has gone beyond mad.

Seems like numerous fatalities. Sad beyond belief.

Unconfirmed twitter reports are saying 20 dead, over 100 injured.

Hoping that's been exaggerated.

I really am speechless and flabergasted. Can't put a cognitive sentence together, proper shocked, stunned. JUST WHY? I really can't comprehend.

Surely the murder of innocent children has got to be a watershed moment regarding these subhuman nutcases?

These subhuman nutcases are so twisted they just do not compute the way we do. No right minded person can comprehend. It is truly beyond belief.

Desperately sad.

You'd think so, but no, after the initial handwringing, it'll go on as normal.
It's the 70's and 80's again, but that was political, this is unfathomable.

Just woke up to this. Absolutely shocked. There's still kids missing, as young as 6, according to the BBC. Can't imagine what that must be like for the parents.

If it was a suicide bomber that would explain why no images or name of the suspect have been released.

Deliberately targeting an event for kids and teenagers crosses a new threshold of awfulness in the history of terrorism in this country.

What's also worrying is that it undermines the 'lone wolf' narrative of the last few years - this seems to be an organised, directed attack. It's not some random fanatic wielding a knife or driving a vehicle onto crowded pavements.

It's all well and good to talk about 'heroic Manchester' and 'life goes on as normal' but behind the scenes the attacks on the likes of Christmas markets, public celebrations (Nice) and pop concerts are already having an enormous effect on the event industry. The regulators of public events are extremely nervous (with good reason) and security costs are rocketing.

Suicide vests indicate a different approach altogether, this isn't done on the spur of the moment or knocked up in a back bedroom. There's a team involved in this process.

Tragic. The very sort of gig my two girls would attend all of the time just a few years ago. What a fucking world...

Assuming it is an Islamist suicide bomber the problem is you are dealing with ideological fanaticism (putting aside arguments about what profile of person can be radicalized etc). They genuinely believe they are acting on behalf of their god and are doing his will, on this basis who and what is targeted however sick is not a rational thought or consideration for them.

Disgusting, despicable and sad. Until the first thing everyone is taught in school is about the history of the planets development, the evolution of life and human beings so we understand their is no such thing as different nations/religions etc just humans we are screwed
