Disagree PJ, think it should be top 8 go up automatic, with next 8 in play offs playing for one final promotion place. We would still probably miss out.

To not go up after getting 95 points is a bit rough like!

Given our form in recent seasons, if it ever went 3 up and a play off winner, and 4 down, then we could become a yo-yo club, though there is no evidence yet we could get out of this league.

Can understand Mellon's frustration. That's the play offs for you , it has happened before, when team 10 or so points ahead has lost in play off final. As long as you have play offs, someone will feel hard done by. I never liked the idea of play offs from day one, though I concede most fans have taken to them , and they add some excitement at end of the season, however I do like to see the club who finish highest win the play offs.

The Rugby league have the best idea. Leagues are numbered all the way down.

It being a 'tough' League is probably a bit of a myth, in the main it's probably shite I thought League Two was awful this season I was only really impressed with Portsmouth. What is tough is actually getting out of it, as Tranmere have shown. To get 95 points and not go up has to knock your end in it's hard to have a much better season than that. You're looking at over 100 points to win to it in the last two seasons. That's the tough part as obviusly at any level the play offs can be a lottery.

You're probably right. 100 pts does seem a bit of a tall order, but I imagine a lot of points would amassed quite easily against the cannon fodder. With the right players down the spine of the team, a club like Pools should beat teams at home like Boreham Wood , Ebbsfleet, Maidenhead, Guiseley with their eyes closed.

I think where Tranny fooked up, was dropping 5 points in their games v FGR , that came back to haunt them

If you have to go up via play offs your beating off sneaking in last minute with a bit of momentum and good form.

The team who just misses out on automatic always seems to be a bit gutted n flat.

Can I reserve my opinion until I see where Pools finish next season. I might be voting for 15 up and 15 down.

What about something smiler to the Scottish system. Top and bottom switch leagues. 2nd and 2nd bottom play off - winner takes the league spot - loser relegated ot stays down.

Need more places at least 3 if not 4..

I think 2 is enough. There's League and there's non-League. Remember when it used to be one club every five or ten years who went up (or down)?
Ideally play-offs should only be between teams who are very close on points, but of course that might mean cancelling the Wembley booking. Can't have that now can we.
