Someone....(one of our French friends I believe?)....gave a name to when you listen to a song but hear something other than the actual lyrics....what was it again??

Anyway, on that subject and the Harry Styles song called Sign of the Times....if anyone has heard it there is a high pitched bit where I hear 'football it'...fuck knows what the actual lyric is/are...anyone else hear the same?

I think the word you're looking for is 'mondegreen'
That said, that song is dirge and I can't believe he got 50 million views on Youtube. That guy makes Michael Bublé sound cool.

there might be two words for it then because it wasn't that but I don't know so I'll have to go with what you say Mr dor

I admit fairly recently having used the term Lady Mondegreen. I inadvertantly stuck a lady where she doesn't belong.
The bit that got misheard is
"They hae slain the Earl o' Moray
And laid him on the green".

And that was the tragic end of the poor lady.
