They do love a bit of crime round there. Wonder if it is French agents in the middle of it? Wouldn't be a surprise given Newcastle's shopping habits a few years ago and the Payet saga at West Ham.

Didn't Marseille get demoted a division and their Chairman sent to prison a while ago? Corruption/Bribery etc. This is all from memory(and alleged)?

180 HMRC officers, how much is this investigation going to cost in order to check out 5million pound irregularities.
The enquiry will cost far more than the sum in question.
Is this a good use of public funds?

TBF out of the 180 officers probably 20 or so will be the "case officers", the rest will have been drafted in to remove evidence and ensure nothing was removed by other parties. The enquiry may find its £0, £5 million or maybe £50 million or more. I'm glad there is someone looking after my snodgers(copyright Mr Mutley).

Yes. Applying that logic any investigation would be a waste of public funds.

It's a shot across the bows to them all, not a regular event. I like the idea of a random investigation of all clubs financial dealings.I can't think why, but recently the idea is really appealing.

Apparently they are looking into very large under the radar payments to players..... I doubt we are guilty of that!!!
