Am a bit gutted to be honest but it was to be expected I guess.

Always enjoyed his team selections and seemed to get an extra 10% out of a few of them.

Little need for him in and around the 1st team squad as it stands.

Scope for Jones to bring in more of his own staff or a cost cutting measure...?

Good luck Sam.
I enjoyed your stand in Manager wins.

Good servant to the club over about 10 years. Wish him all the best for the future.

Reading the Official Site he was 'sacked'
Where does that put Hewitson, McGuckin, Sweeney and Parnaby, Buster etc looks like Jones is having a clear out.

Thought he was destined to be manager one day. With his side the wrong end of the league he was obviously bringing the club's reputation into disrepute.

Odd timing, maybe they had a falling out?

It's a shame and never nice for anyone to lose their job but it was surely inevitable? When Hignett was appointed a job was essentially created for him to remain on the gravy train while Russ Green was still here and with Dave Jones now having two assistants how many back room staff does a League Two club actually need?

People have asked for this for years a manager with full control over his staff and some strong leadership.

Good luck in the future Sam.

You had to get the feeling there was an inevitability about it. Maybe Jones wants everyone toeing the party line, time will tell. Doubt we'll ever find out the background to his departure, though someone's cousins, girlfriend heard two blokes talking about one of their mates who has the full details but can't say owt....for now.

Gutted regardless of how he got his position, been a good servant on and off the pitch. Rather have him on the payroll than some whom remain.

I wouldn't read too much into anything on the OS at present. The ticket office is meant to be open until 3 today for tickets for the upcoming away games but is closed.

According to the Player Profiles we don't have a Number 17, but there's a photo from yesterdays training session and the Number 17 we don't have can clearly be seen in it. On the flip side a lad we were told had definitely gone out on loan is still listed as being a member of the squad.

I find it hard to keep up with all the comings and goings.

I can answer the numbers conundrum. A player signs in January so gets the say 38 squad number. Being say a striker the next season when he is no 1 striker he gets the number 9 shirt, yet keeps the no 38 training kit.

We must be the only club who has to do a weekly audit on the team section of the website to see who's still playing for us.

Says we are 'set to recall' Deverdics in time for tomorrow.

Gutted about Collins. He can count himself unlucky not to have been appointed full time manager.

A months loan lasts 30 days I'd imagine it's worded like that because its expires today/tomorrow.
