Mainly disappointing but feel sorry for Hignett really, looking for realistic targets is no easy task, those he has signed in the Summer from the Conference have largely not performed as expected or gone after just a few months. These are players many managers would have looked at and hope they could step up to the Football League as many believe the Conference is mostly on par with L2. Sadly most summer signings have disappointed.

[b]Toto: inconsistent to say the least, but there was a good player in there and a character. Should of been a fan's favourite here / cult figure. Problem with him. reputation of making a right ball's up meant you were just waiting for a cock up, few players would have scored, then be sent off inside the first 5 minutes of a game.

Deverdics: Form at Dover suggested goals and assists, something like 18 + 16 and Dover captain last season, underused, back there on loan by Having seen Deverdics in the first team and reserves this year he lacks something, makes wrong decisions and quite lazy. Should have been a main player for us, surprised he was Dover captain, showed no leadership, quite anonymous and not vocal at all.

Amond: Something like 38 goals for Grimsby, 11 so far for us. Controversial assessment from me, not league standard, spells at Accrington and Morecombe suggested this. Runs about but often not in the right position, Hignett used him s loan striker not effective looked better last week behind the two new lads.

Dave Jones and his backroom boys have a tough job, the windows shut, he has got what he has and on today's evidence at Mansfield there is a mountain to climb. Ronnie Moore had the luxury of good loan signings like Mirfin ( I would love him back, he would be my captain and main signing and go from there !) Tshibola- his loan spell here kick-started his career, without doubt would'nt be playing in the Championship. Sadly we cannot do it now and chop and change.

Under Jones I would expect a ruthless cull in the summer, pleased to see h%

Billy I think has had his day, could do a job for a non league side but finished here, wouldn't be surprised to see him farmed out to non league team before much longer as the daft window loan rules are not for non league sides.

First things first, stop playing 442. Our midfield is absolutely powder puff so with 2 in there we are just asking for pastings especially away from home. And certainly since Walker been put in.

Get back to having 3 in middle and try to keep goals conceded down. The goalkeeper is also not league standard. Too small. Carson being injured was a lot worse than people thought.

Amond has scored 11 League goals in 24 starts. Not League standard!?

He's the least of our problems.

Doesn't matter what formation you play at this level (within reason before the pedants start with 0-0-10 etc). The team that wants it most invariably wins the most. Our team is full of absolute fannies who don't look like they have an ounce of fight in them. There are no men in the team, just loads of kids with Beats headphones and iced gem haircuts.

I agree to a certain extent yloop but playing 4-4-2 away from home with that midfield against an in form team is basically asking to be slaughtered.

I'd be more inclined to say playing Brad Walker and 8 other under 25's in a team is asking the same.

We've been lucky for the past few seasons that other teams have bailed us out of relegation, I'm not so sure this time.

Also heard they didn't go over to our fans at the end? That's pretty shit regardless of the result, you go over and thank the people paying your wages, and if you get pelters then you take it.

Play just about any of our midfield options in a 4-4-2 away from home and we'll get overrun.

We need to back to five and use Thomas on the break which was at least a bit succesful earlier in the season.

The lack of a tough midfielder in the mould of Tinkler is a big omission- Gary Liddle would have done the job but did we even try to get him? The lack of a captain with guts and not afraid to bollock those who are not doing it, since Micky Barron have we had a real captain or leader? Fetherstone is a tidy player and neat passer but can't tackle and certainly is not a captain or leader. Many times Hignett said in various interviews we lack Captains yet failed to bring in players to fit the bill. We lack guts and guile-are not nasty enough and to an extent agree with Yloop that there are too many fannies.

Heard good things about one player that would have suited us- ex Blackpool Captain David Ferguson-left back. Captained Blackpool last year got released went to Shildon in the Northern League and signed for Darlo in January- looking to get back in a League side. Maybe not the answer but did Tommy Miller look at him? Remember us going up against a tacking midfielder and bit of a dirty bastard called David Syers from Scunny-also at Darlo now- I can see why Jones dispensed of Tommy Miller-plenty of players that might have fit the bill seem to be around and playing lower than they should?

We need characters-too many nice footballers in our side- we need men, players who can win dirty ! Its gonna be a scrap to preserve our league status again but last time we pulled off the great escape we had better players.

Forgot about Alessandra- runs about and looks the part but flatters to decieve-little end product-bet he feels a certain dejavu as was part of York side last year- we have better kids in the reserves Connor Smith and Josh Hawkes- more faith in them than some of our senior pros who sadly lack the guile and guts to scrap it out in the lower reaches of L2.

Gary liddke was never what I'd deem a tough tackling midfielder.

It's been years now that our squad is full of basically powder puff painless cheap and very limited footballers. You get what you pay for unfortunately

The trend since the start of January has been first team players leaving the club and not being replaced. I doubt we ever had a chance of signing Liddle. Mind since he went to Carlisle they seem to have imploded.

We can moan about managers, players, tactics all we want. We are getting what we deserve now from the incompetetance of one man, gary coxall. He has got the club in such a mess that we go into the most critical part of the season releasing players, rather than signing quality. He just needed to look at the fixture list to see how much of a mess we could get into later on this season. All the games against bottom teams are away, which we are pretty dreadful at getting results at and home games against the best in the league. We really are in trouble now.

Have those whacking their wages on us making playoffs cashed out their pennies yet?

No they fucking didn't. A couple of them turned round on the halfway line and applauded but not one of them had the balls to walk over to us - even the steward mentioned it as we left and why would he give a fuck?

I get the awful feeling we're just going through the motions here from the top down and playing for time....I just don't see the cavalry riding over the hill to rescue us this time.
Our situation is a like the captain of the Titanic on the bridge, knee deep in the Noth Atlantic, telling who's left still listening, that he thinks he's got the problem sorted and he can save the ship.
