If you go anywhere and there's a problem with your ticket, you'd surely query it at the ticket office and it'd be sorted. I've lost all faith in Coxall but I can't see how this particular issue is his fault.

Totaly agree muttley...its the first time wrve had this sort of ticket so i cant see it being forged...and the first time its been scanned in ages else i wouldnt have got in with AA card...as for your comment poolie crab..why should he go to ticket office when he has a valid ticket...coxall changed the system so yes it us his fault

Congratulations on your sobriety. As for systems, sometimes they don't work. Stay calm and query the problem and you (or your mate) would be allowed entry. If there was a problem with your mates season ticket, then surely there would have been other customers with the same problem. However there may have been a problem with your mates individual card, was it torn or anything?

If I'd paid for something and it didn't work I'd expect to have to go to the place I bought it from to get it rectified, ie the ticket office in this case.

He's gone to the effort of going to stadium, it would take 5 mins to go to the ticket office and probably get a paper ticket issued while they look into why his card hasn't worked. If you believe it's Coxall's fault for this one fan's season card not working that's you prerogative, glitches happen though.

It's the fault of whoever is supposed to be training front-line staff. Surely a supervisor could have been contacted by the turnstile operator?

If a bloke arrives with an apparently valid ticket that won't scan, most outlets would have trained their staff to check it out with their line manager rather than just turn the customer away.

Bad service from the turnstile operator or not, I'd still have wandered up to the ticket office to have a chat with the staff in there.

Yeah I would have....after I'd asked the operator to let me in with a valid ticket and then would have asked to be let in by a steward!!!!

I put my season ticket book through the washing machine once. Took the remaining mush to the ticket office, they checked a few details and then issued me with a replacement book.

It was Gary Coxalls fault that it went through the washing machine in the first place of course. Even though it was probably four years ago. Hate him.

My view is the turnstile system doesn't work at all. The person simply presses a button that make a beep sound and he releases the lock on the gate. Did we ever pay for it? Where did it come from? Low cost, low tech solution to a tricky problem.

Just a minute, we're all making assumptions here. How do we know that someone hadn't nicked the season ticket of Saladswerver's mate, used it to gain entrance and then cunningly arranged for the ticket to be returned to Saladswerver's mate's pocket. That would explain everything.

Almost 50000 supporters through the gates and one complaint which with a modicum of common sense could have been overcome.
Let's not forget this is a lower league stadium and a club that cannot afford the luxuries of the best equipment just like most of them in our league.

Whilst I have nothing against new turnstiles what is wrong with the present set up.You produce your ticket the operator scans it and they let you in. Why pay for new ones when we are scratching for money.
Try going to Disney in America and see the problems at their entry gates. With all their money they cannot get it perfect in fact I bet with a party of five or six one will be refused although I must admit there is staff on hand to sort it out.

Saladswerver, the scanners at the Mighty and well supported Bishops, failed to work, and the Turnstyle operatives (with or without Line Manager support/advice) used a pen and parer with the really mathmatical genius solution of the 5 bar gate method of counting. As far as I'm aware no supporter has refused to return to the club!
