Sad to hear the death of Taffy. He was one of the best sportsmen in the town in the late fifties early sixties. He was one of those people who was good at everything he turned his hand to ( makes me sick). He was an excellent footballer and a Seaton Cricket Club legend. I was lucky enough to play football with him for a short time and could not believe how good he was.
RIP Taffy.

RIP Taffy, one of my old Seaton CC pals. A great bloke with a fantastic sense of humour.

Terrible news. RIP Taffy. An utter legend at Seaton CCC.

And I will never forget fielding at long on, at the end where the football pitches are now, when Taffy bowled, early in the season, lobbing up his spinners, in a blizzard. It was unreal, freezing, but very very funny.

One of the nicest blokes ever to be around.

Really sad news. sadx R.I.P.

His legend will live on. Happy memories of being subjected to his Peter Skellern cassettes on the way to away matches.

He was a legend. He had a little Fiat Punto that only had one cassette, Peter Skellern on one side, Tony Christie on the other. All the way to bloody Boosebeck or Loftus with Skellern and the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Taffy singing along. He really didn't give a fuck!

Then his Cricket Bag, which was tied together with knotted string. He would often field smoking a fag and have to chuck it away if the ball came near him.

His bowling...Man...slow and deliberate he would literally BORE people out!!

Talk about happy days...
