Evening folks

Long story but the missus got a fine for parking in a very poorly marked disabled bay near the cinema in Middlesbrough.

I have now received a letter from a company called BW Legal claiming final notice; that the fine is now £160 and if its not paid it'll go to county court proceedings.

Do I pay this? I wasn't driving and haven't responded at all. She hasn't been a dodgepot by the way. She was astonished when she got the fine

A few questions.

Did your missus pay the correct parking fee?

Was a parking fee applicable in the first place.

Have you ignored previous correspondance.

Are they claiming you have to pay as registeted owner?

Its free parking after 6pm so she didn't pay any parking fee

I've ignored all correspondence thus far

The letters say nothing at all about being registered keeper. The car is registered to me and I was in the house with my 10 month old son (at the time)

If it's your car but you weren't the driver, it seems you're supposed (obliged?) to pass on the drivers details. This might shed a bit of light on it.

They don't have any special status. Tell them to fuck off and that if they want to convince people they're serious they need to learn to spell focused.

Should I ignore it then? I have done so far. I just want to know the likelihood of this going any further

If you havent responded to them then you deny having ever received any correspondance.

Furthermore if it was free to park agyer 6 pm anyway then they are likely to be laughed out of court if it ever got that far.

They actually want £160 for what is essentially a free car park.

I genuinely want all of these scumbags to die horrible painful deaths in front of their kids.

And yes. I do mean it.

i was sat in the car down the marina opposite boots waiting for the missus and noticed a lad in the car next to me and thought he must been doing the same.

next thing a flash bmw pulls into a disabled bay and woman jumps out and goes into boots so the lad gets out and slaps a ticket on the car and takes loads photos she blatantly drove past a few empty spaces to get right outside the door. in the space of the 15 mins i was there about half dozen done the same thing

To be honest if your parking in disabled bays without a blue badge I have no sympathy. As much as I hate thewe parking enforcement companies these bays are there for a reason. This is not aimed at jish as if the bay isn't correctly marked there's your argument, particularly at night time.
