Ask Mrs PSB for the Pitta Bread recipe please. Also if the Meze includes home made Dolmades I am coming for tea whether you and the Mrs like it or not!

You will need1 pack of yeast, quick rising yeast she gets hers from a greek store in birmingham when she visits family but i am sure tesco's etc will stock it
1/2 cup warm water
3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 cup lukewarm water
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Let sit for 10-15 minutes until water is frothy.

Combine flour and salt in large bowl.

Make a small hole in the middle of flour and pour the yeast water mixture in hole

Slowly add 1 cup of warm water, and stir with wooden spoon or rubber spatula until elastic. apparently the wooden spoon is crucial

Place dough on floured surface and knead for 10-15 minutes. When the dough is no longer sticky and is smooth and elastic, it has been successfully kneaded.

Coat large bowl with vegetable oil and place dough in bowl. Turn dough upside down so all of the dough is coated.

Allow to sit in a warm place for about 3 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

Once doubled, roll out in a rope, and pinch off 10-12 small pieces. Place balls on floured surface. Let sit covered for 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 500 deg F. and make sure rack is at the very bottom of oven. Be sure to also preheat your baking sheet.

Roll out each ball of dough with a rolling pin into circles. Each should be about 5-6 inches across and 1/4 inch thick.

Bake each circle for 4 minutes until the bread puffs up. Turn over and bake for 2 minutes.

Remove each pita with a spatula from the baking sheet and add additional pitas for baking.

Take spatula and gently push down puff. Immediately place in storage bag it should stay fresh for about a week in the bread bin or alternatively just eat it straight from the oven

So a thread initially about the Supporters Trust includes memories of msn, a child grooming story and finishes with a recipe for Pitta Bread.

I find this thread hard to believe.

So many things that are just wrong.

But to top the lot:

We have someone that wouldnt eat a kebab from a takeaway, for less than a fiver, but would spend all of that time and expense making his own.

Weird.

Not everyone lives from a takeaway you know, sometimes you have to pitta bit of effort in and make a meal or stick one in chef Mike!

Thanks Mr PSB, and especially to Mrs PSB. I used to use Strong Bread Flour, which is probably where I went wrong!

Mr Butt, I am sensible, I wear Duchamps. After your earlier admittance on this thread are you really in a position to comment on the "discrepancies" of the Clergy? :naughty:

Mr Colonel, although I do enjoy the odd takeaway or ready made meal, this is why I prefer fresh homemade meals.

I did Mr Mac and it worked a treat. Mrs PSB knows her stuff!

I've just re-read the whole thread and am laughing as much as the first time. Can we not invite Monkeybutt back?

This photo makes so much more sense now that I'm 4 series deep of Always Sunny. Great series so far.. Danny DeVito makes it for me.
