Too many coincidences there like.

I think the case is closed at liking monkeybutts posts.

I imagine even his immediate family had a strong dislike and good measure of disgust at his utterly terrible craic and him being about as funny as a mass grave.

Aye, Yubep, this is the crux. For years, as I recall it anyway, no-one here talked about football at all except, occasionally, in a civilised MadJohn sort of way. It was all chicken kebabs and music threads and random surreal comments. Of course, fighting occasionally broke out but it was never about anything as silly as football.

Some people don't seem to realise that the conversation is the same every season. "The manager is promising/we'll end up in top half/player 'x' is rubbish, we need a decent replacement/ player 'x' isn't rubbish, player 'y' is rubbish instead/the manager is rubbish, get him out/ no, he's not, it's too early to say/ relegation battle/not relegation battle......"

Bloody hell, give me strength........

Go back a few years and the angry brigade could at least construct an argument or did it with some humour. The likes of Birthmark , Parmo, Grave, Derwent etc were worth reading even when they were sticking the boot in. You also had good posters putting across a counter argument.

This latest crop of posters are clearly either Darlo fans or people who like Chip said can't be bothered to string more than a few words together.

This board used to boast about being rarf free and was a much better board for it. It was also a lot funnier. People taking themselves far too seriously.

Need a few more like Shilts posting on here that can put together something worth reading and a cull of the social media idiots.

As I have been mentioned here, I feel I have to respond. First of all, whilst I did get angry at the way things were going, my anger was generated from concern as to where we were heading and, as it stands at the moment, nothing has changed as our league position shows. Here we are, going into November, still awaiting our first home win.
I understand, from what I read, that we are looking "better" and "play better football".
However, we don't get points for "pretty" football, nor do we get points for regularly being in front, only to finish losing.
It is refreshing that Hignett is trying to "play the right way" but he needs to understand the balance between attacking football and keeping the back door shut, a point I made at the closing of the last window.
The reason I don't get involved in post match discussions anymore is because it is over three years since I last attended The Vic. I can't comment on what happened, or analyse individual performances, so don't feel inclined to get involved. I have been to one game since September 2013, away at Notts County last season, and was astonished to see us playing tippy tappy football in the dying stages of the game, whilst being a goal down.
As I said earlier, there is a time and place for everything and playing it across the back four, well into your own half, with minutes remaining just isn't the recipe for creating chances to salvage a point.
I still like to read the bunker and do so every day if I can.

We seem to be making real progress off the pitch. We have owners who don't have deep pockets but are transparent and really seem to be trying they're best.

I like coxall. I like hignett. I want it to work for them as they are positive people at a club which bloody needs positivity.

I don't know how long you can back a manager that's struggling tho, I'm not saying sack him, but football is unforgiving.

Moore saved us, but then he had to go. It's harsh. But results are needed and fast.

Hignett is learning his trade and, in my opinion, would benefit from having an old head as his assistant. There doesn't appear to be anyone at the club who he can go to for advice or even a second opinion.
Someone in the Wadsworth mould would be ideal.
There must be plenty about who could fill that role.

But Mrs G, the amount of people that moan that the bunker doesnt talk about Pools enough is staggering.

But like you said, it was never there to do that. It was just set up by a group of pools fans, to talk about politics, poetry, and other things beginning with P.

Interesting point of view. I've been registered on here for 5 1/2 years now and a visitor for about a year before that, and the way I remember it there has always been a decent mix of football and non-football threads on here. More non-football stuff in the close season, as you might expect.

In that time I'd say nothing has really changed in terms of the content and tone of the football threads, though I do miss Parmo threatening personal violence to Uncle Ken and Chip ripping the guts out of anyone he thought was clueless about football (bit of a reprise performance on Saturday night).

If you want to pinpoint when the Bunker lost it's sense of humour (which it hasn't, at least not completely) it was the fallout over the Referendum vote this summer. That was genuinely uncivil at times.

I see the gadgie who runs hufc1908 has banned politics completely from there. Smart move.

Nonsense Malcolm.

The referendum threads were the best on here ever.

Its always great to out racists, for example.

And any nutter that supports UKIP.

Not that it matters now as they are doing a better job than us, of destroying themselves.

Oy tosspot, what's the point of me putting you on Ignore if you're going to reply to my posts?

Amazing that you think there are 17.4 million racists and UKIP supporters in this country - better get yourself a bet on Paul Nuttall for Prime Minister at the next election.

Meantime, put me on Ignore as well, otherwise I'll just have to keep pointing out how stupid you are.

Good point on the politics Malcolm. I stopped reading for a bit then as it all went too far. Then the footy started n I think the aggro continued.

If we can get people like yourself, chip, elvisc, mad John, valiant etc posting after games n regularly then I think this board will be fine

I've banned a few people lately like. Been a busy year for bans

Well, I think a lot has changed but then I joined a lot earlier than Malcolm. Possibly many of the original crowd had left by that time. They played off one another, humour-wise
There's not the same commitment to being ridiculous now ......still some good threads occasionally, though, I agree.

Now here you go again. You have accused me of saying they are all racist.

But I didnt say that. You seem to do this a lot. As well as petty name calling.

And you seem quite angry too. Can I suggest therapy?
