Statistically we're due to score at least. I'm taking two of my nephews to what will be their fourth Pools game, and they've yet to see us get even close to the net.

Solid half. Donnelly, Laurent and Hawkins looking good, particularly Donnelly.

The goal was a bit of a fluke, cross that found its way in off a defender but I'd say we probably just about deserve it.

Second half I'd like to see Thomas and Alessandra switch wings, get Thomas on the right and have a go at their dodgy looking left side of defence. Amond could do with some support as well.

Having said all that we're absolutely losing this 2-1.

I thought they changed the rules in the summer to avoid triple jeopardy where if it was a penalty it wasn't a red card.

Depends if the ref thinks it was a genuine challenge for the ball or not. Deliberate foul can still be a red.

What's Curtis Fleming supposed to be doing? Just putting the cones out? Hignett can't turn this around and certainly not with these players. This time our luck could just run out in afraid.

we'll be fine. need to stop shipping goals mind, at least to the levels we are at the minute. We scoring plenty which we haven't done for years. Teams who score plenty don't tend to go down

First pools game since we got smashed at pompey last year. Thought we were a world apart from that team today. we have threat up front and we'd have won comfortably without conceding that penalty. Don't know what's happened to the rule of not punishing a team twice in that situation! Gutted that Thomas looks like a medium to long term absence after the injury today. We were twice the team barnet were. 5 mins of madness and the referee beat us today.
