My mate went to the one in Pools the other week, and him and his missus said it was spot on. On Saturday they tried the Sambucas in Durham and said it was just okay, not a patch on Hartlepool, and the menu was different.

I thought they were a chain, so how come the big difference? Anyone know?

Think they have the Windmill on A19 too.

Never been to that one but one on Church Street is spot on for the money!

Agreed, decent scran at a decent price, and within walking distance so able to have a couple of pints

Tree. If you went to the one at the a19 and got value for money you would go home starving.

Even a skinny ethiopian would come away still hungry.

Quality might be good but you would be going for a pizza on way home.

I can think of two good reasons to go to the Dalton Lodge Sambucas.

Not been to that one but won't try it, is it not same as one on Chruch Street then?

Just been to a fancy restaurant and had celeriac and apple soup followed by a goats cheese-curd mouse, followed by duck breast, followed by coconut financier and followed by petite fours and coffee.

Could murder a pizza tbh.

What the fook is a coconut financier? Is it similar to a mango fancier?

Good to hear about some duck eating though.

Was like a layered almond thing, very dense.

A coconut financier is a man who is dessicated to backing the remake of mutiny on the bounty.

It's a chain but isn't made by robots so you'll get different quality at different places due to the skill level of the chef

Going to Bella Italia Friday and Saturday in Newcastle.

Anyone ever been?

I haven't been for a few years, but it was a good meal if I remember correctly. (Wine was expensive though).

Right. Takes lots of money yubep. You will need about 6 add ons unless you want to leave hungry.

Again the quality is ok but like lots of italians the portions are at best lasses size. And not hartlepool lasses size. More victoria beckham size.

If you dont want to fork out for extra chips garlic bread etc take enough money for a kebab later.

You have been warned.

Go to El Coto in Newcastle instead.

Also, I'm out in Newcastle on Saturday if you're staying out after.

Can you be convicted of rodent cruelty for covering a little innocent mouse in molten goats cheese cheese curd ?

Was decent scran and made a change but think id rather spend £20 on a takeout for meself than what I paid for all that.
