I think we might have to wait a bit longer for the home win, fielding a side without Carson, Donnelly and maybe Hawkins.

1-1. Allesandra.

3,464!!

......was that a Penalty then? There's I mean. When I saw it live I was sure it wasn't, seeing the replay on tv it looked more like a foul, though there lad made the most of it.

Ha! That's two correct scores out of the last three. I'm probably best off quitting while I'm ahead.

We were lucky to get away with a draw, especially the goal line clearance by Harrison. Don't know what to make of the game he had - he kept winning towering headers, but his play on the deck is sometimes atrocious and he got on the wrong side of his man more than once. Also, he was extremely lucky not to get sent off again for losing his rag when they were waiting to take their penalty.

Agree with Brian Honour that Richards was Pools' man of the match - Toto, Allesandra and Laurent also had decent games.

Terribly weak bench though and we can't get the Irish lads, Featherstone and a few of the sick notes back soon enough.

Funny I thought Harrison had a really good game. Though he did nearly gift them a goal about 5 minutes from the end when instead of just clearing it he fannied about on the ball and passed it straight back to them.

Also thought Harrison did well, as did Toto and Richards. Carroll had a poor game imo and not just because of the penalty he gave away. Seemed out of sorts.

Thomas didnt do anything of note after getting the penalty, Hawkins and Laurent impressive, Allesandra fairly quiet by his standards too.

Carson in for Bartlett and Donnelly in for Harrison for next game imo.

Wasnt impressed with Deverdics either in the short time he was on, do we know what injury he has? Green looked a little lost but he aint played much, is that his first League minutes? If Deverdics out against Carlisle then id probably be tempted to keep Harrison at cetre back and have Donnelly in the holding midfield position.

To be fair I was impressed with Crawley, the best side I've seen at the Vic this season. Although the game was dire after half time up until the penalty they created nothing second half after creating plenty first half. We pressed them in our half better and we looked like seeing it out until Carrols lapse.

It's frustrating that we can't win at home but there's still positives to be taken from our start, we have only been beaten twice and we haven't conceded a goal in open play since the Yeovil game.

Crawley were far, far better than I thought. Lots of Chelsea Under 23 lads, quick and great passing.

Would that mean that the loan system is a better idea than the checkertrade thing?

In reply to PHILS post about Walker.
The commentators for the Sunderland game said he was shocking and totally disinterested in the game.
A very strange decision for him to be given a new contract in my opinion.
But only 2 points from a play off spot.

Maybe 70 points mite be enuf this season.

Maybe the offering of a contract was simply because Wolves had been sniffing and we thought we may get a fee for him? It certainly seems Hignett has no desire to play him in the League when Woods, Featherstone, Laurent, Hawkins, Deverdics and now Green are all ahead of him.

Same as Turner did with Mackay, they thought they could get a fee from Gateshead I think so we kept him on another year but no offer came.

On his day he was superb and look unbelievable, I watched a reserve game last month and he looked lost and disinterested then. I don't understand how he has diminished so fast, he always looks like he has the tightest legs when running.

I can't remember another Pools player having a similar career to Brad Walker's. It's easy to forget just how good (no, just how fucken exceptional) he was, as it seems so long ago. And he's STILL only 20!

I still hold hope for him. It took Hawkins til he was 22/23 to finally break into the 1st team regularly. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to have the same attitude.

Something must have went on behind the scenes, from signing a new contract and telling fans at the awards do that this was his last chance and he wants to prove himself, to being nowhere near the first team and never talked about by Hignett. Ship him out on loan.

I honestly believed Hignett would get the best out of him, clearly hasn't turned out that way but from the outside it could only appear to be Brad's fault. He don't look the brightest so a career outside football could be a huge shock to him.
As mentioned a loan move, similar to Boyd's move to somewhere as minging as Boston, could be a game changer.

I think we should start rumours of an Apprentice of the year curse that haunts young players the same way as the Manager of the month award apparently does.

Back to Thomas, he never really looks effective on the wrong wing.

Also, Banton for Crawley had Richards inside out for the time he was on, couldn't believe they took him off.

As for Walker, get rid, waste of a shirt.

I reckon most of his damage whether goals or assists have come from cutting in on his left from the right wing tbh.

Crawley just doubled up and showed him outside each time. We only looked dangerous when he moved over.

On another note, I thought their holding midfielder was excellent. Was only 3ft tall but controlled the game.

Remember when Ronnie Moore signed Jason Banton and played him for about 18 seconds?

Me neither.

Wonder if he'd scored against us whether he would have not celebrated out of respect for those 18 happy seconds.
