David Wheater freed by Bolton, fits the bill, 6'-5" central defender and ex Middlesbrough player.

29 years old, might want to come back to the Northeast?

If money were no object we could have a back three of Wheater, Steven Taylor and O'Shea.

Trevor Carson could start practicing facing penalties straightaway

Can't think of David Wheater without remembering how Eifion tore him a new rear vent at the White Elephant.

Was in the Darlo executive lounge or whatever it was called after the game and he still looked shell shocked when he came in - think he got their Man of the Match!
