i was down me dads and he was what the hell do they want that for - more fights, a few queens, ropey as hell - but there was always some old boy when you went away who'd been for a drink in the devon - still i bet they dont ask about caspers

My most vivid memories of the Devon are not of drinking there but of myself and my sidesman having to carry half a ton (10 x 1 hundredweight sacks) of Easington best coal up into the attic rooms, after which you needed a drink, but we never got one . That would have been about 1966.

Jeez - I wish I was that fit now.

What is the name of the bloke that does the tannoy announcements at Pools? Is it John Breward that name rings a bell, do youse reckon it is the kid in the football picture in te Memory Lane tonight.

I have probably got the wrong name though :uhoh:

Think I know where I went wrong. Isn't the gadgie off Radio Cleveland Len Brewer, nearly the same as Breward I suppose and I have just mixed names up
