Apparently the guitarist with the big hair that was married to Angie Watts, is pissed off with Borat because they wanted him to play Freddie but not worked out!

Given we're stuck with a monarchy (which I don't find totally negative as it's still better than a party-biased president), I'd much rather have Betty than Charlie.
Long live Her Majesty!

The Monarchy costs £32m a year to the taxpayer and generates nearly 10 times that in revenue. Regardless if you like them or not they still put more money into the economy than google do.

The alternative is a President. Presidents are usually politicians. Therefore half the country hates the President and half love the President .
I prefer the idea of a money generating fairy tale to being asked to respect most politicians as President any day. It aint perfect, but perfection is what politicians offer and never get anywhere near producing.
It's mad but better than the alternatives.
I'll lose no sleep over it.

Sorry Mr Elvis C but from the thread title I declare you a "Puffist".

I however with my Blue Blood am a monarchist. As said above the Royals bring loads of tourism (in our crap weather), investement etc.

On a personal level she seems to be quite a nice old dear. But her position at the apex of our class pyramid means she holds the whole rotten thing together. I don't know what I'd replace her with - I suppose if they transmogrify into a Scandinavian style bicycling, pot-smoking, irrelevance with no real influence then I'd be happy with that.

When I picked up my little lad from nursery this afternoon he genuinely looked a bit pissed off that she'd not turned up at Clavering school after he'd gone to the trouble of dressing in Union Jack colours and making a crown.

I think he misunderstood and thought they were staging a 90th birthday party with the queen not for her.

Surely we should have got a day off for this? The way celebrity's are going she won't see 91 never mind a 100 and if she does she'll probably be locked up in jail for something. I suppose we'll get a day off when she does pop her clogs.

Half decent idea but totally lame implementation.

I don't see how a president is worse than a monarch in anyway. In a couple of years we'll a head of state who no one likes and is embarrassing on a world scale. I actually think Charles will bring about a resurrection in republican feeling in this country.

In principle I'm not opposed to a republic, but you just know that if that happens the parties will turn the office of president into some kind of political bullshit. Dismantle our grossly unfair and unrepresentative electoral system first then we'll talk.
