Face facts, Pools (oldie!) are in just as much danger of relegation as they were last season.

Whats the jepus does Pools (oldie!) refer to?

Have we changed our nickname?

No we haven't. A while ago someone who I imagine thought the current nickname was The Pool, singular, commented that I must be from an older generation referring to Pools. He was correct as I was under the impression, as a lad, that we were Pools or The Dockers. With modern technology I see that we are still the Pools but alternatively, The Monkey Hangers.

At last derwent with his League Status post can see what has been obvious for the last four months.
To avoid trips to the likes of Dover next season, there has to be another club to join Dag & Red other than Pools. Well it doesn't look like York so that leaves only Yeovil, the only team we are capable of beating of late. To escape the drop, home wins against lower middle table teams are a must but three attempts have been squandered recently so the outlook is bleak.

Well we've seen what we can do against lower half table teams so bring on the promotion candidates!

Last season we were lucky to escape the drop but luck evens out in time.

When I started watching the likes of Berry Brown, Leo Harden, Watty Moore, Ken Johnson, Newton, McGuigan etc, I was content to just go along and see solid pro's (although Leo was a dustman as well) earn their £12 or £14 a week in 3rd Div North. The idea of promotion never came into the equation. Seasons came and went until suddenly Pools were in the third tier, division one. I was so proud but it made me realise that the club could be much better than it had been for most of my lifetime.
I am now bitterly disappointed and very angry that the powers that be have let the rot set in to such an extent that non league football is again on the cards next season. I dearly hope that we can hang on like last season but if we do, there must be a root and branch shake up involving a large capital investment to ensure that the town has a club of which to be proud.

Did you watch them in that first Third Divison season? My Dad played a small number of games that year and in really interested as to what the standard was like compared to now?

Lots of people on here think exactly the same. They don't pull the same thread up time and time again to prove they are right.

So basically, you've been on a downer since the 1950's..... marinading in gloom and doom, glumly awaiting the end of league football, a bit like those loony sects waiting to celebrate the end of the world, fingers crossed they may both happen on the same day. Oh dear.

relegation fight?

there was more chance of Monkeybutt being able to pull a girl above the age of consent on his CB than there was of us getting relegated.

It should just be put to bed I told you so is just as tedious from either side.

Can't we bring that thread back that Quakerz started when we lost 1-0 at home to Barnet when we "didn't have a Mary's prayer with Danny Wilson in charge" We didn't lose for about
another 6 months and we was bumped constantly for six months and more

I have just searched for the thread. Cant find it. It seems theres nothung after the end of august 2006.

But there are some very very funny threads about Danny Wilson and how we were all saying how shite he is, and how we are going to be relegated. :uhoh:

I think 99.9% of us got that badly wrong.

The thread started in November 2006 so it should be there somewhere, unless it got moved or something?

Just had a quick look myself and all the threads are still there from that season but couldn't find that one? Did Quakerz get an Elton John style super injunction on it!?

I was one of the few who defended him...hence getting called Wilson's son for a while. I then did the same with Turner....the rest is history.

It was 100% on here, he could have possibly posted it on both but it kept getting bumped on here with every passing win until the end of the season, I'm not even sure you could do that on rivals.
