I have the full lot on DVD and find it very funny.

Especially the pilot episode and the "do you have a lighter" scene.

They showed it on French TV back in the 80s, but it was the British airmen/spies who had the caricatural accents in the dubbed version. If anything it made it funnier.
The Germans still got the short end of the stick mind when it came to accents.

It was part Brian Rix farce and part riffing on Sellers in the Pink Panther. It had its moments.

Not as big into the racial stereotyping as the appalling (and completely unfunny) Mind Your Language.
