Hi all,

3 of us are travelling down to Morecambe on Saturday morning from Edinburgh to see the Pools!

I was just wondering if there was a pub anywhere pre-match the Pools fans will be gathering for when we get there?

I see the tickets have sold pretty well for this in the away end. I'm assuming there should be no issues for walk-ups such as ourselves? Sort of a last minute decision so too late to get the tickets in advance.

Last year we went to a cracking pub on the sea front called The Ranch House but that has since closed, the owners have opened a pub round the corner called The Exchange which I think a few of us are heading to tomorrow.

Probably best to keep an eye on Facebook or on here tomorrow to see where the majority are going.

Cheers Joe. Hoping to arrive in Morecambe about Midday or roundabout so would be good to get somewhere beforehand.

Superb start. 3 in the centre of midfield by all accounts. Hopefully there'll be no inexplicable switch to 4-4-2 with us so much on top.

League two is a bit crap, people were talking of playoffs after staying up last year when I'd of been happy with mid table. Next season with Hignett in charge I'm quietly confident of playoffs, particularly if he uses a bit of the cash left over from the last window.

every faith in Hignett leading us to bigger and better things. When he was here with Cooper we fell apart when he left. Fleming seems to be working well with the defence.

Wow took my eye off the game for a while and it's 5-2. Great that both James and Oates scored as they both needed it.

Michael Woods (Hartlepool United) wins a free kick in the defensive half. how well is woodsy playing even winning free kicks on the bench

a great result at Morecambe.

And we should do York no favours next week either, remember a year ago they beat us 1-0 with 10 men despite Pools having all the possession and we needed the points so badly!

I'd rather keep them for the away day, but no. Next week hammer them.

We shouldn't lay down and die but I'd take no pleasure in seeing York go down.

Talking to one of their fans on the way back to the car and he exclaimed, " How the hell are you lot down the bottom end of the table?", once i`d explained about pickles for eyes, tictacs and playing tig previously, he waxed lyrical about we were the best team they have played and our quick play, ball to feet and Xavi in the middle, left me feeling proud clappp

Featherstone was bloody good today clappp

What a fantastic day out that was! Well worth the 330 mile round trip and £17 admission fee. The last game I went to was Cambridge at home last season (2-1 win) and what a difference in the team's style of play since then, it was so refreshing to see the players have total faith in each other and not panic when in possession.

Featherstone was a standout for me and it's such a pity he sold their second goal because I thought he was absolutely flawless otherwise.

Also a special mention to the fans who made a right good racket throughout, it was such a pleasure to be in amongst that yesterday.

Another special mention to Brad Walker who made the penalty and unselfishly handed the ball to Luke James to get off the mark.

Unselfishly my arse, he had a right spit his dummy moment out when he was told and stormed off toward the half way line FACT.

Did you rate Luke's performance yesterday sctatchinghead

Would you still not sign him or was that someone else who said that. I wasn't there so no idea how he played, just intrigued if you had changed your mind.

It was me who said I'd rather 100K be spent towards Adam Jackson, but dont think anyone said they wouldn't have him back. Luke played well again yesterday, harrased and chased lost causes and no one was more chuffed than me that he got off the mark with a penalty. Monkeybutt was right about Walker though, he only give the ball to Luke James once Magnay (captain yesterday) told him to.

He got a hell of a whack leading up to the 3rd goal by Nathan Thomas ( what a cracker that was btw).

Clearly we have no idea what sort of budget we have for next season and ideally we'd get them both signed but I am convinced Jackson will be playing at a higher level.

If boro get promoted, I can see them giving him a new contract and then putting him out on loan but will want him playing higher unfortunately. A cheeky bid wouldn't harm mind

Had a cracking day on Saturday, went to the Hurley Flyer outside the ground when we first got there but didn't enjoy paying near £4 a pint. Had a walk down to a pub called The Exchange, got 2 pints, 2 jagerbombs and 2 packets of crisps and got change from a tenner.
It's fantastic to see us play so well, Nathan Thomas absolutely battered them they couldn't get anywhere near him. Although it was only a penalty I hope Luke James manages to bag a few before the end of the season. One of the best overall performances I've seen from us in quite some time.

Really its not in our interests for James to start scoring, if we want to increase our chances of getting him next season that is.
