We look like the amateurs, no exaggeration.
Nowt up front, Magney is never a right back and we seem to have started the game without a left back. At least Smith has turned up otherwise a waste of a half.

Complete dross. I'd be bringing Woods on at half time for Bingham and change to 4-5-1

I take that back, Smith look OK on the ball, only him and Featherstone looking to get on the ball, but definitely a waste of 45 mins.

If I was in charge Ronnie'd have another 45 to keep his job.

This is just like waiting for the axe to fall, can't see us getting out of it and they've got goals on the bench. But at 0-0 you have to hope.

We could win this on penners. We have a good keeper.

He deserves better. Certainly better than playing for a team this shite.

I've not been convinced by Carson, spills quite a lot and while he's saved plenty today he's got away with a couple. It certainly wouldn't be his fault if we lose however.

I genuinely would hate to see us win on pens. We don't deserve anything here.

If ever needed to see that Ronnie tactically inept it was tonight.

Let's change back to a 4-4-2 which massively highlights how bad we are with a 2 man central midfield. Gray is so poor in that formation it's untrue, he can only play as the more advanced number 10 in a 3 man midfield.

Also, playing 4 strikers and bringing Harrison on at right back. If you think Richards is that bad, don't have him on the bench. Sure he criticised Harrison for his display at Mansfield playing out there. The guy is a complete clown, and all he is, is berating the players.

Some of these players have the ability to have moments of quality, but the decline in them is embarrassing and coaching has to be questioned. And if we sell walker but can't seem to get anything out of him in our own team, highlights this even further

Best pools player Trevor Carson kept us in the game then salfords fitness told then after the goal their heads went down which is not surprising after they looked like the only likely winners

Bates best player for me tonight. Followed by Carson and then probably Featherstone who at least has some sort of quality on the ball. Just overall depressing at present

Let's be honest we were dreadful. Other than bates and Carson I don't think anyone was good. Fenwick was basically just sulking for 90 minutes then put a ridiculous amount of work rate in once extra time had started.

We won cos they were knackered. Abysmal but it's far more than just the players fault, Ronnie is tactically inept

Couldn't agree more with this. I was shocked we were playing a 4-4-2. Featherstone looked like a defensive midfielder and played well but there was nothing in the middle ahead of him. 2 players out on each wing so i thought we were playing a wide 4-3-3

Yeah compared to the others i thought so, looked like he broke up play a few times and didn't really put any passes wrong. Ok, granted it was an average performance that may have stood out in a team that were well below average but it looked like he did what was asked of him. Just had nothing else to work with, no other midfielder or forward in front of him to pass to. What else could he do? Don't think Woods etc would have played the position better. Grey on the other hand left a lot to be desired last night, no link up with forwards or ability to play centre mid

Featherstone barely touched the ball second half apart from a couple of times when he dropped so deep he took it off the centre backs. He should do better than that against that opposition. He's a nice footballer but he's as soft as shite we need winners not fannies.

Gray is a 19 year old kid who's been playing U21 football he'll have never played in a game like that. To play him alongside Fearherstone in centre midfield was ridiculous. You want to get a lad like that on the ball in the final third to hurt teams like that. Not scrapping and battling for possession on the half way line while your more experienced partner goes missing.

So Featherstone is appalling cos he's experienced but gray gets away without any criticism over performance because he's a kid?

H'way man, give fair assessment to all players, not just having vendettas against certain ones. Featherstone was better than gray tonight and I can honestly say gray looks good when he has the security of 2 midfielders behind him. Completely looks lost in a 2 man central midfield as he wants to just attack, which you can't do in that formation.

I'm happy we have gray. He at least looks like a goal threat but if we aren't playing 3 man central midfield, I don't think he can play.

Did Gray and Feather pick themselves to be completely overran in midfield?, No!

Did Salford play the long ball game?, Yes!

Feather played deep because that was where the ball was!

Gray was out fought nearly every time, he is not a battler!

We needed players like their right back in our midfield, when was the last time we had one of them?

Featherstone worked his bollocks off and maybe not the best player but he put a shift in with Bates.

Featherstone and Gray can both be good midfielders but that depends who is with them and in what formation.

3 in the middle of Gray, Magnay, Featherstone I have no qualms with. Playing them two alone in a middle of a 4-4-2 is fucking crazy.

Another masterstroke by Ronnie.

Seemingly has played woods far too much and now suffered. Same happened with paynter where you could see he was injured early in season but constantly forced to play 90 minutes instead of being managed correctly.

Look how much we are missing paynter just simply as a focal point in the team.

There was one occasion where Bingham I believe was hemmed in at the corner near the Corner Flag by two of their players and I immediately thought of the times Neymar Jr. had created goals from exactly the same position.

Yeah, I know, that was asking too much.

Boydy did that on his debut. He was like Neymar in many ways but less Brazilian, slower and fonder of beer.

After the cup tie at Salford there was hell on because Ronnie Moore didn't start with Bingham up front to exploit their lack of pace at the back. Apart from the missed header, Rakish did look decent when he came on.

Tuesday night Moore went overboard, starting Bingham and Smith (as well as Oates and Fenwick) and obviously hoping to kill Salford with pace.

Result? Bingham and Oates both have stinkers, nobody can hold the ball up, meantime Pools' 2 man midfield gets overrun and we're hanging on for grim life.

I like Rakish and what he brings to the side when he's playing well, but for his sake I hope he doesn't start against Plymouth. His confidence is absolutely shot at the minute.

Oates has had a very long run in the team for a young pro and he looks like he could do with a rest as well.
