More like the penultimate epidode. The final episode will be after they knock us out and then get to face a team with heart and spirit. Anyone who watched the full 90 minutes against Notts Co will have seen that Salford showed more fight in that one game that what we have shown all season long.

Greetings from Salford. I've been reading this thread with great interest and might just print out some of the comments and stick them in our players dressing room before the game! Seriously though I'm really looking forward to your visit and for the chance to see whether we can replicate the sort of form we showed against Notts County. I admit that they were really poor but equally so I thought we were excellent. Our home form is very definitely a cause for concern with just one home league win in seven although we've won all eight away fixtures and disregard last night's 'Mickey Mouse' Doodson League Cup loss to Trafford as we fielded a combination of youth and fringe team players. Our priority is very much promotion with the FA Cup being a brilliant distraction for us.

One thing though, your fans will be better catered than ours with a large marquee in place selling a variety of brews coupled with an excellent choice of good old fashioned pies etc. We'll just have to satisfy ourselves with a 1000 people trying to fight their way into our modest clubhouse

Forget the last round. As a Football League club you will certainly start as the favourites but we will certainly relish the challenge on the night! Having had something of a soft spot for you since Brian Clough was in charge I was absolutely delighted that you maintained your League status last season as that combined with us pipping Darlo to the Northern Premier League Division One North League title really pi**ed them off!

Cheers Pal....with your 'away form' just hoping you don't take us to a replay !
Hoping to be there (dunno how many tickets we'll get allocated) but I live in Leigh (near Wigan/Bolton) so a 25 minute journey....
I only visit Salford, when our Rugby League team Leigh Centurions visit Salford City Reds (near Trafford Centre) nowhere near Salford !!!!

There's a fair bit of irony in this thread; our recent record in the cup against non-league opposition is mixed, to say the least. And we're usually dreadful on the tele; we've lost, over last decade, more than we've won.

A Leythers fan I see. My favourite Salford Red Devils performance by far of last season was against your your lot in the Super League play-offs. It made up handsomely for the earlier Challenge Cup defeat! I'm a season ticket holder at both the football and rugby clubs but Salford City FC always take preference if there's a clash of games. With regard to the stadium I really wish they could have stayed at the Willows as I really miss the atmosphere generated from 'The Shed'.

By the way your allocation for the FA Cup game will be 400 which I presume will go to season ticket holders first. Any idea how many you have?

We have around 3200 season ticket holders so probobly comfortably sell out. I reckon we could of taken close to a 1000 if the opportunity had of been their

To be honest my only concern about this game is ronnie lately he has stuck to 442 with a piss poor midfield which means most games we are getting played of the park cos there's no point having forwards or wingers if the midfield carnt win and pass the ball even a blind man can see it but ronnie doesn't seem to and just lets the game get away from us.
So fingers crossed he picks the right players to play in their correct positions with the right tactics for an away game we should have no problem but like i said above if he doesnt change his way of thinking lately then salford are in with a chance.

We've been given 350 tickets at £10 for Adults, £2 Over 60's, £2 Students, U16's £1. Tickets due on sale early next week. I'd imagine it will be season ticket holders first then maybe the return of the Ticket Stub Elite which would be controversial as nobody got a stub from last week.

We have over 3,000 season ticket holders, 350 tickets aren't going to last very long especially as they are practically giving them away so I wouldn't worry about stubs.

I've heard that they use the database of who has got tickets to provide Ryan Giggs with a list of houses where there there may be unattended wives for him to visit.

And how many people would travel to Salford on a wet, cold December evening on a school night?

only 350 regularly travel away to games, less than 200 if over 4 hours away, but don`t let that stop you over dramatising stuff eh

What is this obsession with me, you don't know me from Adam?

What are you babbling on about here for example? What am I over dramatising? I normally don't respond to your shit craic and insults but I'll make an exception here.

I have a good idea, your sitting behind your computer in stained Y fronts, knee length footy socks, your boyfriends character slippers and a t-shirt that hugs your expanding frontage.
There is last nights KFC empty box to your left and a stack of The back passage of India dvd`s to the right, am I getting close?

PJ is a top lad and more knowledgeable than most on all things Pools.

I'm sure you'd both get along, so how's about we stop the sniping and give peace a chance?

Yeah this is big game though just two hours from home in the FA cup second round. We have been on tv before on weeknights Halifax and Huddersfield and didn't we take around 700 to both. Pools have a history of taking big away support to big games. Is there any wonder we only take 200 to 300 to games in our league.

Looking bad for our tickets in the home end, with the ground being nowhere near anything we're going to watch it in the Legion or the Ashley Brook.
