Now Im not saying that this is IOR ,but it seems more of a possibility than Sheff Wed.And It only for discussion as this board really boring at the moment.

According to Sunday People...

"Hull City are a target for a major takeover from a mystery group-who already have a controlling interest in a rival football club.The money men want to buy out chairman Adam Walter Mitty Shithead this week,but the deal is complicated because of their"other team"

Now of course we know that "rival" may mean same division,same region but it could just as easily mean any other team in the English Leagues (Premiership excluded)

Now as we know Hull is on the coast(same as Hartlepool) therefore a port and also has BP there (oil connection for IOR).

A reason IOR gave when purchasing Pools' from the Late Harold Hornsy was that with the club being on the coast it was ideally situated for their business.This reason could therefore be used with the purchase of Hull and a larger port with BP already situated there.

I dont mean this as "scaremongering" or insinuating that it is IOR who the newspaper is vaguely saying is the mystery group,(it of course may be paper talk to fill the coloumns up)but as stated at start it more of a possibility than Sheff Wed.

So if the Sunday People is correct and some mystery group is thinking over purchasing Hull and have a controlling interest in another team,what do people think that that group could in fact be IOR.

This not rumour I want to make that absolutely clear,it just what I thought was a possibility when I read the article.And other people could read it in a various number of other ways.

Just sounds like newspaper fluff to me. If the group is a mystery, how do we know they exist at all??

There could be a large group of "Mystery Groups" interested in purchasing Hull

It seems a foreign influx is about at the moment too and thats mainly from the US of A, So whats to say that Mystery group isnt American?

I see this is also over on Rivals, Someone made a fair point on there too, Why spend £120k on Billinghams pitch if your off on pastures new

the figures we would be talking about for clubs like Sheff Wed and Hull would be what they have put into Pools magnified by at least ten. For this reason alone I can't see how/why they would desert Pools mow. Also as pointed out, the investment in the new pitch at Billingham plus the club's owners' recent statements to put down roots here for the long term, mean I am not worried. They will take Pools into the same company (football-wise) on a fraction of the cost, and owning Pools completely is guaranteed- unlike somewhere like Hull.
The satisfaction they will get from doing a Scunthorpe/Colchester would be another factor, the owners have done it themselves - not bought a ready-made championship club.

I thought IOR were going to buy Billingham Town seeing as they've spent £120k on a new pitch there and there's a BP petrol station nearby - coincidence or what?
