He was apparently once tracked by Man U and Celtic but chose Aberdeen instead

I love how he said Darlow were in the lead for his services because they had a 25,000 seat stadium ...I hope he isn't under the misapprehension they fill it every week ...he could be in for a bit of a shock.

Players must turn up at Darlo and be impressed at the stadium ...a bit like looking at a Range Rover you're buying and not bothering to look under the bonnet or inside it....then finding there's nothing there but an empty shell.

For Kev:

Both Hartlepool United and Darlington are battling for the right to sign Scottish striker Andrew Bagshaw.

Bagshaw was released by Aberdeen recently and has been attracting interest from both clubs. He played for Darlington in a trial game against Stoke and scored twice.

He has been asked to return for pre season training with them on July 1st. Pools are also interested in a trial period and have invited him to train on July 9th.

Bagshaw said 'Hartlepool have phoned to say they would like me to train with them while Darlington want me to go back there for three weeks.

He has already spent time on trial at Dundee who are also interested in signing him.It seem likely that the 18 year old will spend a week at each club and then decide who to join.

Darlo seem to be leading the race currently after he said "They have a good set-up and play in a 25,000-seat stadium which really appeals to me so they have the advantage just now.

Someone should tell him that there is usually a few empty seats on matchdays at The Darlington Arena.
