Fair play. A honest heartfelt explanation, retraction of the part that is deemed offensive and a proper apology. This one at least should now be put to bed.

I am doubtful about the heartfelt element, a politically expedient explanation seems the more likely.

I hope you're taking the piss there M'Lord. Heartfelt my arse. He couldn't have kept his job had he not come out with that crap, and I'm not sure apologising for "causing offence" constitutes a proper apology. Bet he kisses a photo of Bobby sands before he goes to sleep at night, the massive massive twat.

Of course the politics forced his hand but it seemed genuine to me and I believed him.

Either way, he apologised unreservedly so what else would you have him do? Be flayed across a gun carriage?

Very fair of you Mr I. I got the impression he probably sees what he said back then as going too far when he looks at it now. If he decided that with the benefit of hindsight, and a good reason to go back and think about it again, it doesn't make the apology less sincere.

Sadly, I reckon Mr Pirlo's reaction will be more common than yours so the name-calling will go on, and on, and on...

I don't believe it's for us to act as judge on the matter, and he shouldn't ever have been in the shadow cabinet in the first place. Maybe he is being honest, but I'm calling bullshit on that.

A gun carriage would be nice, but I say let him apologise to the residents of the Shankhill and lets see who does, and doesn't, think he's being truthful.

So we shouldn't have opinions or make judgements about politicians and their comments?

And Corbyn shouldn't appoint a close political ally from the group that decided he should stand into a key job?

And the residents of one small area of Northern Ireland should get face to face apologies for something somebody said while the families of the dead from all sides get general platitudes at best?

I'm calling bullshit on your bullshit calling.

I was waiting for you to pipe up ffs. A man who cant take a joke or see when the line has been cast. Your nose must be covered in the brown stuff the amount of times you've been around Corbyn's arse.

To conclude. You're fucking boring.

Exactly. But our education system leaves most people totally unaware of history and leaves most of the rest totally unable to draw objective conclusions. England is always right.

As a result, the net explodes with ranters who believe they know what they're talking about and are entitled to have opinions.

When I'm Education Minister all this will change........

You're sounding a bit worked up for somebody who's a self-appointed expert in taking a joke and spotting lines that have been cast.
