Did not see that coming at all!!

Nicky Featherstone at right back though? Don't think I like the sound of that, it's rolling back the years to when Sweeney played right back for a season.

A player at right back who cant tackle. Sounds good.

Paynter and Bingham maybe missing too and with Magnay and Duckworth out, think il be lumping on Exeter once I see if any loanees come in.

Bates played right back back in the day he could actually run.

Him playing full back against a winger with any sort of pace isn't really something I want to think about. Red card certainty I'd say.

Featherstone has played full back before and has the mobility to get up and down the pitch, he'll use the ball well as well. Bates could actually improve our midfield as he's the one in there who can break up play.

Him and BATES only come to the club for some easy pocket money.
Both made a decent living from there premiership wages.

As for the injury crisis whos next?
Whens Conner Smith gunna start games supposed to be the next Luke James in e.

To be fair to Parnaby he must have had some desire to play the game as he trained with us all summer and seemingly right up to this point for nothing.

The only surprise is that it's taken this long for him to come to the conclusion that his body isn't up to professional football.

Plus to be fair to Bates, even though I've seen him with a full bonk on, has taken a one third wage cut to continue this season.

Panic over. In a tribute to Colin Cooper Ronnie has swooped to sign young right back Brad Halliday from the Borer.

On reflection he was a very very astute signing by Cooper, who made light of SP's chronic history of bad injuries to deliver him to us. I had it on good authority he was among the top 3 best paid players at the club too. Can't wait till the Council name a street after him in a few years. Gonna miss you Stu-Ball...

No idea what sort of deal Parnaby was on - whatever it was it was too much as he hardly kicked a ball for us. I think I only ever saw him in a blue and white shirt for about 17 minutes. It won't stop the Fail referring to him as 'former Pools star Stuart Parnaby.'

Still, it's clear he has done his level best to get fit (for nowt) over the summer and Ronnie always speaks well of him, so I'll manage without the snide remarks.

Him and Bates may be constant sick notes waiting to happen but at least they haven't pissed their Pools contracts away in the nearest pub toilet. Or eating their own weight in Greggs' pies!

Yes I remember that day well he put a great shift in before succumbing to cramp. He was rightly rested the week after.

I just hope I can get tickets for his testimonial.

I don't think the bloke enjoyed being out injured all the time. He has had to give up on a career he probobly loved today.
