Marlon is a good pro
. if they had any ambition they'd add him to the coaching staff

The past 4 or 5 games are probably the best he's played in pools colours, shame he didn't do it consistently before because I don't think we'd have been in this position. When he came on today he was the player we all thought/hoped we'd signed 18 months ago. He said he's going so at least he gets to go out on the high of a game changing performance. He really did desrve a goal for that performance but well done to him anyway

Someone I've wanted to do well but so often lacked in so many areas. Really like him but I would not keep him under any circumstance.

Saying someone played well when they quite clearly did is not being fickle it's just telling the truth. He was massively up for it and you could see he didn't want his time at Pools and the season to end like it is going at half time in front of such brilliant travelling support. He came on grabbed the game by the scruff of its neck and help make it a memorable day. Credit to him and a nice way for him to say goodbye the full away end were singing his name as he left the field and he was lapping it up in his usual understated manner

which is probably why he played so well. Brendan was by far and away a better player than his brother, Denis.

There hasn't been a performance that accomplished by a Pools player for a few seasons. Although it was an end of season game which always are a bit quirky and only a second half he was ellish.

I don't mean to belittle the bloke because that would be a bit harsh never having seen him play, but at least we seem to have got half a good game out of him (unlike certain others).
But we need more than one game changing performance out of thirty from our players unless they make at least some kind of impact in the others.

He is a classic big game/atmosphere player.

Will only have fond memories of him.

Marlon may well have been disappointing initially, but let's be honest, most were, change of manager, change of attitude.

The biggest noise ever made by a vessel was I believe the one made by Tsar Bomba, which had shitloads of stuff in it.

I think he's worth another year. Even though he had his best game for us against carlisle, there was a fair few games before that where you could make a point that he was our best player.

Marlon is living proof that English football needs big characters. He'll be fondly remembered by most Poolies on the back of half a dozen decent performances (and as many goals).
That header against Accrington! The way he geed up the crowd for the Morecombe win end of last season!

Got to hand it to the fella - there's quite a few Pools players down the years who have done more for the club but will be less well remembered.

I've always had respect for Marlon. He can't possibly start a game but as a second half sub he has on several ,even vital ,occasions pulled the team through with his experience. When younger players like Hugill and Tshibola focus on working properly with him like at Carlisle, he's invaluable. The Carlisle defence hadn't a clue how to deal with him.Of all the old timers, I would keep him for another season.

To be fair, in the 2nd half Carlisle played like a team who were 3-0 up in a meaningless end of season game.
Their defence stood so far off Marlon he had plenty of freedom and time to pick out a pass.
Time for us to move on and look beyond getting the odd half decent 45 minutes out of a player.
