9 OUT 8 IN so far.
A right winger and another keeper and the jigsaw is complete.
And most probably done on the same wage bill as last season.
Good buisness by Ronnie n Gary.

Add in the extra support that looks likely for next season and things are looking good on and of the pitch.
I genuinely believe the club will be going on an upwards direction with the new owners and quality manager we got.

I'd be pretty confident it's on less budget than last season.

Some pretty big earners from last season have went (all guesses like) but the squad looks more balanced with younger hungry players

The main difference is the net has been cast much farther. Ronnie's knowledge of players added to a network of contacts gained only with experience in the game is far superior to any manager I can remember at pools. Whether any of these players are any good only time will tell but he's only brought in one duffer so far.

I assume we are no longer refusing to deal with agents? That must help!

I believe we did deal with agents but never paid them directly so Ken could tell everyone we don't pay agents.

could Mad John or someone advise if we have ever had a more changed team team on the first day please? i was thinking of the Peterborough match in August 2003, but we had at least 5 players start from the previous season. probably something more obvious but its been a long week

In the past we regularly used to release pretty much every player each summer and start again- 80s ish.

Yes it would be nice if four of our new signings could score in our first match. Hell, why not all seven (goalies get a free pass).

Cheers John (again)

Looks like it's def on for a record new starting line-up then! Keeping everything crossed I'll be home for this historic occasion.

I'm even looking at the new strip and thinking that it's bloody odd, but, yknow, it's not a bad marker for a new era :)

Id hazard a guess we will have Carson, Magnay, Worley, Carroll and Paynter all making debuts and if going 4-4-2 then presume at least 1 winger. Needless to say will take the tannoy guy a while to introduce them all.
