Is it too early to be excited about the potential for the season ahead sctatchinghead

The Bingham signing seems like a distant memory but with 6 more in (all that seem an improvement on what we had) plus potentially more to follow, I am starting to feel really excited about the season

Please don't let this Fenwick rumour be true and ruin the momentum that is building confised

At the very least we should be able to compete, which will be a significant improvement. At the very best it could be as you say exciting times.

All the potential for a good season.
All the deadwood finally cleared out and replaced by better players.
A back 4/5 of big lads that looks well solid.
Plenty of options up front who just require some good service.
Its not to early to get excited.
You just have to look at Wycombe last season to prove what a good clearout can achieve.
Theres no guarantees in football but fully expecting a top 7 finish this season.

cant say ive done the maths with ronnies points per game ratio since hes came in but i image over a season it'd be at least top half of the table. and with the clear out and new players coming in the squad is improved massively. definitely feeling confident of a play off place

Expectations shouldn't be playoffs, albeit people can maybe be quietly confident of it.

Let's take it a step at a time as we still survived last season because 2 other teams were appalling.

The signings look good and deadwood has been cleared out but we have still cut budget so far by quite a lot. Hopefully another 3/4 signings gives us a squad of experienced pros with potential.

Top half I would be happy with when you consider the shit we have put up with last few seasons.

Just refined that for you a bit.

I don't think anyone has the divine ability to reasonably guess where we are going to finish, other than "prolly higher than last season". Remember, we haven't seen most of these new players anywhere near enough to judge their potential.

But Ronnie Moore is no mug, quite the opposite; so, based purely on my opinion of the manager, I'm going for top half and maybe a bonus ending to the season.

I expect the usual trials and tribulations that follow HUFC around will put paid to any chances of a successful season. My heart tells me anywhere between 10th and 7th position, but my head tells me around 14-18th position, with a good run at some stage taking us to the fringe of the play off positions and a bad run taking us to an eventual finish of 14-18th.

Well, that has set my pulse racing...

My prediction is that we are nailed on for a finish somewhere in the top 10 UNLESS the new owners turn out to be completely bogus (reserving judgement on that one till 2017 at least).

We do seem to have a bit of a history of that happening over the last 8-9 years, although it's been more like an 18-20th finish.
There is however no reason the pattern should be set in stone. It certainly wasn't last season.

As it stands I reckon 13th ish. If the 2 wingers we are after are any good then we might break into the top 10.

I can't see this squad in the bottom four which is definitely an improvement.

Well the bookies still have us at 40's to win the title so I guess they aren't impressed with our signings confised

I'm not a betting man, but if I was I wouldn't ever put money on Pools to win a title. Promotion yes, but not to finish top.

Like that time we were top by 14 points and bottled it.

Still reckon we make the Play Offs.

Rumour on ITB of a big announcement this week.
Maybe a good sponsorship deal on the way!
