Next Tuesday sees the release of Brothers in Arms - Falklands 25 by Mark Knopfler.

I along with others have been working on this for the best part of a year and we are now here at D Day. The record will be available on iTunes from 29th May with ALL proceeds going to SAMA - the Falklands Medal Association.

Since the end of the conflict over 300 British vets have committed suicide compared to the 255 who died in the fighting. Of those who have since returned to the source of their nightmares, none have subsequently killed themselves.

All funds will be ring fenced for personal pilgrimages back to the Falklands by the guys who most need to go. Neither Mark nor iTunes, Mercury records or Universal Music will be taking any royalties.

The Sun are running a campaign on it starting this Thursday and will continue through out the next two weeks. The Express are also running some pieces. I am in London for 3 days next week during which time a group of us: Myself, Simon Weston, Dave Brown (2 Para) General Julian Thompson RM, Denzil Connick (3 Para) Ross Kemp and David MacCreedy. will be doing the rounds of daytime and breakfast TV along with radio interviews.

Buy the record guys, this will genuinely save lives.

Can you only get this on a download, or will it be available in the shops as well?

CD's will be available today from http://www.falklands25.com

There will be a limited number available signed by Mark Knopfler, Simon Weston and just for PoolPower; Margaret THatcher.

The site doesn't mention the CD being autographed. Will it be luck of the draw?

No the sales from falklands 25 are normal CD sales. What I meant that Mark, Simon and Mrs T will be autographing a batch for resale / auction.
