I have just heard that there is a move to stop school children from raising their hand in class to answer a question as it might make quieter kids feel inferior

And what about all those thousands of kids who don't have any class?

Well if the question is 'who is carrying a knife/a gun/drugs/tabs/alcohol/knuckleduster/taser/hostage/explosives??' The kids should be allowed to keep their hands down in case they incriminate themselves.

And that would never do would it/? Poor lambs.

I thought all kids carried a selection of those anyway - especially the Afros.

Severe burns and localised chaffing.

Think chaffing is the wrong word
chaff [chaf]
verb (past chaffed, past participle chaffed, present participle chaff·ing, 3rd person present singular chaffs)
1. vt tease somebody lightheartedly: to tease somebody in fun
2. vi banter: to exchange light-hearted teasing or joking remarks

noun
joking: light-hearted joking or teasing

On second thoughts - No you're right chaffing is OK.
