Please, for the thick amongst us, how is it out of our control?

After the Burton game I thought that's it. I really don't want it to come down to the Carlisle game. or any 2 from three.us been one of the three on the last day.

Nothing has changed! All three got beat expect tranmere and Cheltenham now have one less game to catch us. But we must get at least another 7 points. Tuesday could be crucial as all three at the bottom have winnable games

Can't see tranmere picking 9 points up from there last 4 games. I think we'll be safe on 46.

45 might see us down on goal difference.

Accrington is a massive must win now!!!!

So fucked off. Haven't felt this low after a game for a long time, yes we've played worse but this was the time to put a performance in, this game. Getting beat and playing utter dogshit with 20 odd games to go doesn't make me start thinking we're going down, but today, fuck me. Massive following, important game against a team who can't win at home with 10 men and we fucking lose.

What was with the fucking pedestrian paced, sideways and backwards for the whole game? What was that all about?

I haven't got to the point yet where I can take comfort in Tranmere and Cheltenham losing.

Fucked off.

Off to kick the dog.

Did Walker break into a sweat today?only good thing he did was feign injury to get him sent off after running another 3 or 4 steps first

Pissed off with Featherstone today. Too slow and sideways too often. His turn into trouble at the edge of our box gave the ball away and we didn't touch it again until we picked it out of the back of the net. One good game in 6 isn't good enough. More mobility and threat from midfield needed. Tshibola too. Loads of time and possession but no real threat. One toe poke his only on target effort.
Two games without a goal now. This is our biggest concern.

Never really looked like scoring other than in the last 10 when you feel we deserved a goal.

York were such a bad footballing team, the fact didn't beat them is criminal. Remember, this is still the team that won four on the bounce!?

Featherstone- decent tidy footballer just needs a man running off him so he can sit and do his job. As you say, need more mobility from middle of the park as Brad Walker was pedestrian at best today.

Duckworth on left wing back was a car crash and his touch was poor all day.

The Austin for Fenwick sub should have happened a long time before it did.

Main concern is scoring goals from here on in...

Still in our hands though.

I thought the passing in general was pretty woeful as well as the first touch. Most passes just seemed slightly off, too much or not enough on them.

My take on things if anyone's interested:

They went down to ten men (undeservedly) and we titted about in their half not doing much, then lost to a fucking deflected goal.

I fucked off 15 mins early cos I knew we'd get fuck all.

That's about it.

Fucking sick. They were fucking shite.

why we finished that game with 3 centre backs and defensive midfielder on the pitch is beyond me. as soon as they went down to ten men tish wasn't needed, york barley ventured into our third of the pitch. very disappointed ronnie wasn't more positive with his subs

and what was the crack with them half time lottery tickets, there wasn't even a tannoy in the away end

Did someone actually say that Featherstone had a bad game there ? Can only think drink has blurred their vision.

We dominated for 90% of the game. Their goal was a fluke, and yeah of course we went sideways a lot of the time, largely because they had 9 men behind the ball in the last third for most of the second half.

We should have created more, and have no idea what the thinking was behind the subs . Duckworth was seeing a lot of the ball and not doing much with it, and he brings him off in injury time ? Doesn't really give Jones much chance to make an impact does it, 2 and a half minutes ?

Also thought he might as well have chucked Marlon on for the last 15 minutes and gone 3-4-3, its not like York were going to come over the halfway line.

Feels like 2 games running we have pissed away points. Even a draw today would have been a massive point.

Agreed Chip - I thought Featherstone was trying to get a hold of the game in the second half - definitely one of our better players.

People also seem to have an agenda on Franks - He was fully of running and closing down their defenders - OK he made a few mistakes - but at least he was trying.

Tshibola - first time I've seen him play - thought he was too pedestrian and lacked any kind of pace or commitment

All in all, they were shocking - but we suffered for failing to produce a decent effort on target - yup they packed the box and closed us down in the box - but we should've changed the style of play and taken the game to them after the sending off - we looked more worried about losing, than actually wanting to win.

Featherstone, Walker and Tshibola had bad games. The way Tshibola lost the ball and couldn't win the ball back for their goal was embarrassing. He's had a poor three games in a row. We need so much more from those three in the last four games.

not having that like tish was great against Southend, average yesterday yes but to be trying to crab players like that isn't what we need. I reckon Hawkins will get his chance from the start instead of Walker against Tranmere

After one of the Southend players put in a hard tackle he went missing for the rest of the game. Anyway, we need a lot more from them attacking wise the next four games, especially Tuesday.

Featherstone was easily our best player, never wasted a ball and tried to make things happen.

Duckworth should have been swapped to right back where he's an attacking threat. Towards the end we had Harrison playing right back for some bizare reason. we didn't need four defenders York didn't have the ball and when they did they barely crossed the half way line. It was massively frustrating but I don't think the performance was as bad as some are making out out tempo should have been higher and we didn't take our chances when we got into some very good positions. People questioning effort and desire are talking shite, we gave it a go it was just one of those days (as it normally is at York)

Also however big of a mingebag he is or whatever he's done Compton should be on the bench. The game needed someone like him.

I've gathered my thoughts a bit after yesterday's disappointment. Perhaps I was a bit harsh on Featherstone. He has made a big contribution to our improved position. But with a strike force that isn't scoring goals we need someone from midfield to start getting in the box and making a contribution to the goals for column. We're really missing Monkhouse this season and Woods was much more creative and dynamic than our current three in the middle. Time to give Hawkins and/or Addy a start. We need creativity and to carry a goal threat on Tuesday night.

From now on anyone who gets the ball in the 18 yard box and doesnt shoot on sight should be shot with sh*t.

It's all well and good saying that but they had ten men behind the ball camped on the edge of the box.

You got to move them around use the full width of the pitch and get in behind them. Our main problem wasn't not pulling the trigger it was lack of tempo (until the last ten minutes) to create geniune shooting opportunities. You can't just blam the ball into a sea of red shirts.

I'm actually really nervous about tomorrows game, we simply have to win but it won't be easy. After 2 missed opportunities to get any points on the board i'm a tad worried, Saturday has made me a bit less keen to go to Carlisle, i'll wait and see what the next 2 games bring us before making my mind up...

Thing is..York had one shot which WAS simply "blammed" into the sea of blue, which parted, deflected the ball, and voila...1-0.

Thats how you score goals.
