This and the Stephen Fletcher twitter thing with him pictured showing off his new Lamborgini Aventadore parked in the drive way of his massive house next to his Bentley Continental

You know the lad, the one who has scored 7 goals in 2 season but earns £40k a week

Sky money hasn't helped benefit football, grass roots or otherwise, and it hasn't helped the England team

All it has done is make some average footballers very very wealthy and allow the Premier League sides to spunk money on foreign players

I would just like to make it very clear.

I hate the fucking premiership and hope one day it sinks without a trace with no fucking survivors!

I hope he rejects the deal, moves on to a club like Man City and warms their bench. He deserves it for turning down that sort of money.

You know he didn't tweet that picture himself the car seller did don't you?

Hardly his fault if Sunderland promise to pay him a load of cash before he's done anything for them is it?

I get sick of these so called superstars moaning about how much they'll earn. Some should be bloody grateful that they've earned a contract in the pro game, I liked Brian Honour's article which appeared in a link on here a month or so ago telling us about life when he began as a pro. Worlds apart but how many PL players would rock up on the local bus on matchday?

You get a better football education ploughing your way through the leagues, real football at our level.

One argument put forward for higher playing wages was the shortness of the playing career....why not do what everyone else does, look for another job.
It's hard to empathise with people who seem to be so grossly overpaid.

It might be short but it's not 6 months, which is the time it takes for him to earn as much as someone on damned good pay earns in their whole life.

I didnt say he tweeted it did I? but the fact remains the image exits in the public domain and he is an over paid, average Premier League player who is benefiting from the money flooding about in the top flight of the game rewarding players significantly more than their talent deserves

His fault or otherwise it is an illustration of everything that is wrong with the modern game

Be hearing a fair bit about this Sterling contract issue is it really all about money?

I doubt it is really, if it was he'd have signed the contract. He's a London lad and a young lad living away from his family. Arsenal are reported to be very interested in his signature. They play Champions football every year as well may I add. He's also been playing wing back for Liverpool which is a bit of a waste of his talents.

The money on offer is absurd but I doubt he's holding out because he wants more. It's an easy thing to throw at footballers but they aren't actually to blame for what they get payed also if you or your son was fortunate ebough to have the ability to play at that level for a job would you be saying 'no keep your money' He could have signed the contract then still got his agent to engineer a move in the summer. That would be money grabbing. It's a bit odd to describe turning down a £65,000 a week pay rise as that.

If I was a player, especially one of limited ability, and was offered a shit load of money to do fuck all, I'd take it and continually ask for more and get it, fuck the man and the system, get as much as you can, while, you can, because the football clubs do and always will
