There needs to be s sensible price on the gate, as 25 quid is ridiculous and if a similar pricing structure had been in place I couldn't have afforded to take my kids and in turn I'd have stopped as well for most games.
A bit silly when league two football becomes financially inacceable.

Spot on Snowy - haven't managed to get my family to the Vic yet - looked earlier in the season and tickets for 4 in the CK was over £70.. I can watch premier league football for just over £40 for the 4 of us - what are we to do?

Pools (as well as other clubs) need to look at their prices - if they don't encourage young fans - the club support will die out. Quite a few clubs run kids for a quid with a full paying adult - why don't pools run this for under 10's?

To even mention finances at this stage of the season shows hodcroft as a business man, not a football supporter. Can you imagine Steve Gibson mentioning it? Our club will go nowhere until this lot are gone.

Undoubtedly yesterday was a great turnout and i was surprised at how many fans of the big three were here and how many who've just never been to a game before. Going in there was a guy who hadn't got a clue where he was going but still had his two kids decked out in the full gear. One side was a couple of Sunderland fans who had been coming of late in the pink away shirts. The other side was similar but they were tighter so just went for a scarf.

All seemed to enjoy themselves and join in the with the singing and will be back! They may support bigger teams but the intimacy of being closer at a small ground made a big difference for them.

If you think its a tenner in the conference your having a laugh, its about a tenner at Darlo's level. Isn't it more about cashing in on the feel good factor when we need the support and hopefully wet the appetite of enough to keep them coming back when the prices are higher

That's not really a good explanation Chris.

Why it's rubbish has been detailed quite clearly in other posts on this thread.

As Chip and myself have said, £25 is too much to pay at the gate and cheap season tickets need to be reevaluated and brought upto a reasonable level to sustain a league two club unless someone with money to burn comes in to subsidise us.

Next season prices:
MATCHDAY £20 seats £18 terrace Reduced rates for family n group tickets.

SEASON TICKETS: £220 seats £200 terrace.
League two prices by the way.

What prices do other fans reckon they should be?

Depends where we are....as for value for money, the floating supporters who we need are being badly treat and our cheap season tickets aren't cheap anymore.
The big question is how much of the money will be invested on the pitch, because that's what we need to know, the same, same old isn't acceptable.

I agree with that pricing structure. Sensible.

I just don't for a second see the logic in people who blaming where we've ended up on cheap season tickets. The deal was brought in because the slide had already regularly dropped below 3,000 in League One. We beat Charlton on a Tuesday night the season before the deal in front of 2,200 people. I'm not buying that we can't afford good players because our income in significantly diminished due to cheap season tickets. If it was for a start they wouldn't keep doing it.

Also what sort of crowds would have paid 'the going rate' to watch some of the dirge that's been served up over the last year. 1,200-1,500 at times I'd imagine. To get better crowds whatever the price the product being offered has to get better. It's a two way thing. As it stands season tickets are correctly priced, pay on the gate prices are all wrong.

You are right that the cheap ticket deal wasn't responsible for the mess we are in, IOR take the blame for that.

In retrospect it is obvious that the cheap ticket deal was brought in to get as much money in before the beginning of the season as there would be few supporters paying top whack at the gate if the football was shyte due to a the obvious lack of investment.

Largely this mode has worked to IOR's favour with 3000 fans prepared to buy season tickets in the hope rather than expectation that we will have a good season. I think this has been brought home to most if not all season ticket holders.

When my Dad first brought me to a Pools match in 1990, 2000 was seen a big crowd. I've been in the ground countless times whereby we've had 1,300-1,800 on a Saturday and in all fairness, we were poor but we always turned up hoping. I remember a Tues night attracting 1,198 against Fulham in March 96 and that same season 895 turned up for Blackpool for that AWS thing.

Saturday was international day so a lot of big club fans with nothing to do, cheap tickets and ground easy to reach meant we did well. Monday is key as to whether these people liked what they saw and were part of.

Seasons are priced ok but when I tell people the gate price, I just get told its too dear for league 2 and they don't come. We need to charge a sensible price on the turnstile next season and see what happens, if were playing well with an affordable price then I think people will turn up.

Well I'm a Sunderland fan and I brought along another three with me on Saturday. We had a cracking day out, stood on a proper terrace and watched a game where the players were putting in 100% and actually trying to win. Plus we were all made to feel welcome by the Poolies we were stood near. I couldn't help but feel almost just as anxious as the regulars when those 8 minutes went up for injury time! I'm being honest when I say the game was more entertaining than the vast majority of Sunderland games this season, or for the past couple of seasons for that matter.

I do quite a few Sunderland away games so I'll not be able to get to the Exeter game but I'm definitely going to get myself along for at least for the Southend and Accrington games.

The north east fans are easily the best in the country and that includes the ones who support there non-league teams Darlo Gateshead Blyth Spennymoor North Shields etc.

It was good to know that a lot of the neutral fans who turned up v cambridge enjoyed the day and a bouncing Victoria Park. Thanks for the extra support and good luck for the rest of the season to your own teams.

Well, as a neutral I thought the Pricing was spot on. Me and a friend had a fantastic day out, and although I have been to The Vic many times watching Rotherham United, I was so impressed by the whole day. We ventured into 3 Boozers around the Ground and spoke to some very knowldegable Pools fans in each one. The Atmosphere was buzzing the whole game, and I felt obliged to join in with the 'We are staying up' chant at the end. Great scenes!!

The whole day actually took me back in time with Ronnie Moore, to his first spell in charge at RUFC. He has done exactly what Ronnie Moore does. He's come into the club with an honesty. An honesty that the Players quite clearly needed to hear. He's whipped up a sense of excitement and togetherness with the Players, Management Staff and Supporters. I love the buzz phrase about 'Never say Die'. The players are saying it, the Press are saying it and the fans clearly believe in it.

I've no doubt you are staying in the Football League, and if the pricing structure continues to be right, I'll be up more often. I actually live in Whitby now, and they charge £9 in the Evo Stick Premier. £10 to watch Ronnies side is a no brainer if The Millers dont have a game. UTM UTP

Nice comments cheers.

No one is arguing that the pricing wasnt spot on for this game. Its just that the usual price of £25 is ridiculous. I guess you wouldnt have paid that?

Maybe on a one off I would have paid the £25, but if it's £10 everytime its International week then I will attend. If it's £25 then i will not.

We pay £26 in The Championship, and I believe that is too expensive. I do feel the £10 offer attracted a significant number of Neutrals to warrant doing it again.

It certainly seems to have. Sadly our owners want our money upfront hence the pricing as it almost forces our fans to buy a season ticket but at the same time losing neutrals and fans family/friends etc who might just pop up a few times a season. Hopefully the 3 or 4 recent games at £10 have shown them there is plenty of 'floating fans'

Id love to see the figures of how many people actually pay £25 on the day.

Lovely read that, great too see we attracted neutral fans who even got caught up in the chanting, fantastic!

It's one of the most emotional and draining games i've been too in a while, the final whistle felt amazing.

I got home n i was knackered, i was locked out so i sat in the back garden eating jelly babies n a red bull to wake up.
