I saw a few of their games at the start of the season and Hugill and Little showed promise, Little is at Preston still now and Hugill is at tranmere but likely to be called back as Greyson isn't happy with how Micky Adams is handling the situation to be polite.

Tough getting a striker in- nobody in L2 will help us out.

Might be shot down for suggesting this guy but what about the East Thurrock United centre forward Sam Higgins who has scored 32 goals this season. He looked quite a threat in the cup tie against us. Not the quickest but can hold up the ball, works his socks off and centre halves will know he's there. Sure he can do a similar job to Bird. Don't think they have anything to play for so might be prepared to loan him for a month to secure some vital points for us.

Watmore is on the fringes of the first team at Sunderland, can't see him coming here.

Hope that suggestion is not serious Kirsty? He was terrible in that cup game, as so were we.

No chance is he fit enough so hopefully no chance

The most annoying thing is that these players such as Bingham and I'd imagine Bird especially were totally available for a fee in the January window. With hindsight I guess its easier to suggest we should of been signing players like Bird permanently but we are now suffering the consequences of only loaning from the teams around us.

Yes but the he now aborted takeover put pay to that- Ronnie has had to take what he could get and risk a recall- would go for Bingham if he gets released . Bird will be perched on Caimbridge's bench so we can't have him. Personally I'd never loan out to a divisional rival unless your gonna get promoted and have a future fee deal for a loanee that's to be released or a free agent in the summer. If I was Dicky Dosh at Caimbridge I'd recall Bird if my team was dropping off as they have.

I've seen Watmore play a few times for Sunderland U21s and he looks like a really good prospect. He was on the bench for Sunderland at West Ham on Saturday and looks to be a part of Advocatt's plans so we can rule that one out too!

Watmore is surprisingly inexperienced at Football League Level
2012–2013
Altrincham 39 (14)

2012
→ Clitheroe (loan) 4 (0)

2013–
Sunderland 0 (0)

2014
→ Hibernian (loan) 9 (1 )

Dick Eggnog might have him in his plans but better to put the kid out on loan even for a month with a recall clause-one for the future according to Sunderland mates rather than featuring this year- looks good on you tube in Altrincham days-played in defence in the last friendly against us and did nought- no surprise as the kid is a striker.

Joe royle just been banging on on sky sports that teams need to send more loan players out to develop them. Ronnie should test him and see what Everton would give us.

We need a striker who has played at this level or higher and has games under his belt. We have to get this decision right and I can't see how getting an inexperienced youngster in is a sensible move.

I acknowledge though that what we need is probably a long long way from what we can get. Give my argument above we would probably get a player with 100 football league games and 10 or so goals.
