Good news. Just used this
http://www.thefishy.co.uk/calculator0.php?Competition=4&submitform=Next

and I was delighted to discover that we will finish 5th bottom on 50 points when 45 is enough for safety. Obviously I was sniffing glue when I put our results in but still...

I was relieved to discover that a draw at Carlisle last game of the season saw both sides just avoid the drop. Phew !!

Cheltenham 46 46
Carlisle 46 45
Hartlepool 46 45
Tranmere 46 44
York 46 43

Imagine if we knew that before kick off like at Swindon.

Would possibly be the most boring but enjoyable game ever.

I've got it that 46 points is enough.

I had us going down with York. Drawing last game when a win would of sent Carlisle down and kept us up. Ill have to do it again properly....

York 46 44
Cheltenham 46 36
Tranmere 46 35
Hartlepool 46 35

I got 47 points with York and Carlisle going down on 44 but this came down to the last match. Would be awful if they sent us down but brilliant vice versa!

An attempt with optimistic realism but it still says relegation.

York 46 -7 52
Cambridge Utd 46 1 50
Cheltenham 46 -19 47
Carlisle 46 -19 46
Tranmere 46 -12 45
Hartlepool 46 -31 42

Imagine for a minute we win the next two games. I know we've shown no inclination to win four on the bounce so far, but just imagine.
There'd be a very good chance of our being within one point of a couple of teams.
From that moment on we've got pretty much as good a chance as them. We wouldn't need to show promotion form, just be a shade better than the second and third worst teams in all four divisions of the football league.

4 or 6 points from the next 2 games would be brilliant. The league table only matters after 46 games. If we can keep the season alive and get some pressure on the rest then the run in could e very interesting.....

I was at the York-Bury game tonight. York were very poor.

This is what gives me hope. The only other two places I work apart from Teesside are York and Carlisle. I speak to their fans daily. Yorks side is utter crap...and Carlisle are the only other club in as much of an off the field panshite as us. With these two in the frame, we stand a chance...

In all fairness that York home game was weird. Everyone went off it about how shite we were on here after the game , however if we had gone in 3 up at the break that game it would not have flattered us. York came out and scored a bizarre 3 goals in about 10 minutes then it was game over.

I know a York fan who was at the game and couldn't believe they won!!!

With a lot of the bottom five still having to play each other then it should be impossible to go down on 52 pts.Still a big ask but well doable.

Cheltenham have some very hard games still to play

Shrewsbury, Wycombe, Stevenage, Northampton, Plymouth and still need to play York

York have us, Shrewsbury, Newport and some tough looking away games

We need 6 points out of the next 6 as the next game after this run is away at Newport

Then a very interesting few games with Southend home, York away and Accrington home, so a run of 6 points from 6 them 9 points from 12 would be lovely jubbly and see us on 48 points with 3 games to go and when we beat Exeter we are safe

Or we lose the next 2 and fuck it all up

Failure is not an option.

I had us, york and Cheltenham finishing on 46 points. Thats mainly based on beating York and getting 4 points out of the next 2 home games. Had us down to draw at Carlisle too.

Even the fact that were contemplating staying up is refreshing.
