........ winding down for several seasons, you can taste it in the ground, there's been an air of neglect about the place for a while, that seems to permeate the entire structure of the organisation.
This season has exposed what a sorry state we now find ourselves in while our anonymous owners reign over our abysmal descent into obscurity... to me they feel more like jailers, keeping a vice like grip on the club, performance irrelevant but ownership everything.
Relegation will at a stroke rekindle the old prejudices about the club as little old Hartlepool and our useless record down the years ..,, and that'll just be in the town...I expect nationally a similar reaction and the restoration of our old reputation as perrenial failures.
