Shame for the lad. He is the only one out of 22 who has resembled a footballer today.

big shame for woods, he was having a good game and has been one of our few consistently decent players of late. Hope his recovery goes well. Featherstone did well when coming on and im sure Ronnie will trust him for Tuesday

Woods was just beginning to show his true worth and he looked in agony whilst he was being attended to, fair play to their Physio who was helping sort Michael out along with Buster, the doc and the St Johns.

Fetherston for me stands off too easily, Woods was really getting stuck in , having seen Fetherston in the reserves mid week he cannot tackle for toffee, If Miller is fit then that might mean Woods is less of a miss. Hopefully Wood's injury won't be as bad as it looked?

What a shame, just read the official site that's a bad injury , poor lad had just found a bit of form and confidence-dogged by injury in his earlier career.

On the site Moore says he is a potential future captain for the club so firstly providing he is still in charge and Woods doesn't need an operation or with further news doesn't get worse then he will stay for next season depending on the scale of the injury. Lets be honest it could be anything from months to a year and it must hurt emotionally to think this injury could rid him of all of that. Lets just hope he will be able to keep playing after and Moore's words can be that motivation he needs because the future is still bright for him in the game and age is on his side

I had a mate ironically called Woody who dislocated his shoulder and ended up on a medical documentary. He used to be a decent goalkeeper but he gave up after dislocating his shoulder for about the sixth time.

Really sad to see it happen to him as I think he's been one of our best players this season and I only wish he'd have been given a run in the starting 11 sooner. Ronnie Moore is right, if he gets over his injury, he could be a future HUFC captain.

Ankles and shoulders are completely different types of joints.

Do you think the players will hold up a Woods shirt before the game like Brazil did for Neymar?

On a serious note gutted for the lad, was getting better each game, hopefully comes back stronger and better!

Gutted for the lad, he's a cracking footballer who's been consistently good since just before Christmas. Colin Cooper made some bad signings but he was without a doubt a good one. Hopefully he's back for the start of next season because he's quickly becoming my favorite player at Pools. It's so annoying that we found a lad with the knack of scoring in Fenwick and he gets injured then we have a player with genuine ability in the center of midfield who gets a bad one.

Nothing wrong with the tackle it was more down to Woods being fully committed and chasing a lost cause (well not a lost cause actually as his pressure got us a corner that we almost scored from) I think he just landed awkwardly.

Didn't seem a bad tackle at all to be fair, Woods went down and looked like he was going to get back up but seconds later he was screaming and crying, shock must have initially taken over when he went down. Seemed a bit of an arse on with St Johns but the Wimbledon physio seemed to be controlling the incident. As mentioned hopefully he'll be back start of next season whichever league we are in.

It's a real shame. He's a player who is making the most of his second chance in the game and he's arguably our best and most consistent performer, perhaps Michael Duckworth can come close. He's went from being somewhat of an impact sub under Colin Cooper to an asset and a player who will be greatly missed as we go into the most important months in our history as a football club. He is or was starting to show why Chelsea were so keen on him and why he ended up costing them £5,000,000 in compensation from Leeds. This is a massive setback for us as much as it is him and it couldn't have happened to a nicer lad or genuine grafter. Hopefully he was given a 2 year deal back when he was signed and he'll be still with us next season because he is definitely captain material. I think everyone here wishes him the best with his recovery, that goes without saying.

Woods and Tshibola added bite to central midfield and stopped Pools from getting overrun there - which was happening game after game before Moore took over. Woods in particular has been a real terrier for the 50:50 balls - sometimes the 40:60 ones too.

He is going to be a massive loss and with Featherstone alongside Tshibola I don't think Pools can afford the luxury of playing 4-4-2 with Franks and Compton out wide. Compton had a decent second half on Saturday but Franks didn't turn up at all.

featherstone is a holding midfielder who looks like doesn't know how to tackle. reasonable enough in possession but need more etc.
