Walked through Durham city centre at lunchtime over Milburngate Bridge was approached in about 200 yards by 3 separate British Red Cross chuggers- I feel like telling them to Fuck off! I would bet they get paid to sign you up- I'd outlaw this it really pisses me off, I decide whether I give to charity not some spotty, over friendly adolescent pricking my conscience. If that wasn't bad enough got in the Gates shopping centre and 2 more were stood bothering left right and centre. The other week I was "mugged" by some bell ends asking if I wanted my credit rating checking whilst trying to sell credit cards for folks with bad credit history- Vanquis I think on this occasion the overbearing twat was told to "Fuck off" as I went upon my way!

We get them knocking on the door any time up to 9pm. I tell them straight off I'm not interested but they obviously have people signing up otherwise they wouldn't do it. I wonder if people feel pressured on their own doorstep into donating no doubt it's mainly the elderly.

They always say "hey guys" in that pissy student accent that doesn't seem to be from any town.

I ask them if my daughters look like men and THEY have the nerve to get all sniffy as if I've offended them.

I hate anyone who says guys. Awful.

I think it's because all major charities employ "consultants" to advise them how to increase donations. Any increased revenue raised goes to pay the fees of the "consultants". It's a shame, all of theses charities are very worthy causes but walking round any major Town centre you get charity fatigue after about 100 yards.

I don't give any money to the big charities any more apart from the British Legion. They are simply just corporations now, with big salaries to pay out. I always give clothes, furniture etc to local charities where it just gets given straight to people who need it.

Chuggers are indeed on commission, which is why they are such pains in the arse trying to get you signed up. Much easier than selling Sky or gas and leccy.
