This is the ONLY way forward for the club now and it needs to be done soon before it's too late.

It worries me that nobody seems to be doing much to get something in motion. A couple of meetings throwing ideas about is not enough.

We need to take action ASAP.

Hopefully somebody out there fancies owning a football club. Preferably some filthy rich fucker who had zero respect for money

Read somewhere recently that loads of Arab and Russian tycoons were looking at small English football clubs to try and build upto the prem.

Those Arab and Russian tycoons are generally honest, trustworthy and all above board as well so there wouldn't be anything to worry about there.

We need to have discussions with groups that have already done this as they will know how to go about setting everything up and have experience of the pitfalls that could be encountered. Also we need to get local businesses on board. A great deal of information needs to be gathered about the process, I am sure when I looked into it the last time there is,a website about setting up supporters trusts.

The site is supporters-direct.org. As for asking our friends down the road I think that would be a good idea I know a,few people from Darlo that have been part of their supporters trust.

Lots of other fans have gone down this route and succeeded. So why not us poolies as well.

Just need to get fund raising ASAP, as if we do end up in the conference we'd also have to raise a bond just to start the season

Is this other forum an in club? I've not been registered on here long but I'd like to think I'm as committed as anyone to go fan owned.

I agree. Our friends down the road have already offered help, especially the poster who's called, as far as I remember, darlo-pete. If he were invited to the meeting, and people knew he was coming, that might be a spur for more Pools fans to turn up.

It would look like a step forward, rather than just a repetition of what has already been said on the message boards.

I have no feelings towards Bishop Auckland 1883 fans either way but would be enamoured with anyone who assists in getting the fans trust off the ground.

Yes, I will look after him. I've had a darlo friend before ;)

I can also stretch to a few old francs and pesetas, if his advice is good.

it will be a long old slog like our friends up the road on back to Darlo campaign for £75k is only at £21k, however they are fans owned and we need to go in that direction.

Happy to plough a couple of hundred notes into stock from here to help generate funds for the fans takeover - all profits to the consortium - original capital back into more stock.

Anyone want to comment on viability of this idea?

Site suggests a 20 day turnaround - if people will support it I can get an order placed and be at the Wimbledon game on Feb 28th to push them outside the ground (along with anyone else who wants to help). If interest is good enough we could really get the ball rolling funds wise - not saying it'll produce a great level of capital, but penny counts.

Roadkill - Agree with that mate - lets hope we can get something rolling.

Wonder if Jeff might get his mates on board for a talk in night fundraiser? Similarly former players might want to lend their name to the cause.
In addition to scarfs, sourcing unofficial shirts that could have 'The Town's Club emblazoned on them with maybe the hart silhouette logo if there's no copyright attached to it. Fans could buy these instead of handing over 40 notes to Ken.

Spot on matey - we need to find ways to support the club in the future, without doling out cash to Ken every week.

The more we generate as a fans fund now - the better chance we have in the summer.

Has anyone setup a simple donation site account? http://www.gofundme.com/ seems straight forward and would allow people to see others are serious when the figure starts to go up.

Nice to see a bit of action at last.
One thing that always stood out to me about Pools fans is that they were always more up for it at matches than Darlo fans when it came to raising the roof. Now you have to channel that same enthusiasm into fund raising, in other words if we can do it then so can you. Get a figurehead who has the fans respect for a start. I know who I would pick and I've already told him!

Sounds like we have a few ideas, let's make them a reality and get things moving. If we at least make a start at least as more start to cotton on the infrastructure will be in place.

Wonder if joe allon or Brian honour would get behind it? When fans see club legends involved they're much more likely to invest
