The identity of the experienced striker Ronnie Moore is after bringing in a per today's Northern Echo ? They are in dispute with their current club over wages who may be prepared to let them come on loan?? It goes on to mention Chris Porter is free after being released by Sheffield Utd. Quite prepared for us to be as we are until the end of the season, if there is one common thread between our last three managers is the difficulty of getting players to come here, nought new as it was an issue even in our L1 days even more so now in our precarious position.

Morgan had a baby recently, doubt he would fancy such a big move just after? Yubep
Will only grief him if he misses his kid and Morgan will no doubt wish him dead and wi be fined again :laugh:

Heard he's black which narrows it down a bit and as Moore has said he wants experience, Marvin Morgan would seem to fit the bill. Impressed when played for Shrewsbury here a couple of years ago when he scored so would be a useful addition up front.

I doubt the comments of one fucking idiot a few years ago would make him rule out him ever playing for the club. Neither are really goalscorers you feel for us to have any chance of staying up we need to find someone either already here or from elsewhere who's going to score regularly.

Porter's record at Oldham & Motherwell was 51 goals in 125 games, so averaging around 19 goals per 46 games. I think that's pretty prolific, I certainly don't think that we're going to find many (if any) people with as good a record as that in a decent division, who aren't past it, and who want to come to us in our current position.

It will fill a gap for a couple of years anyway until the time is right for Howard to return.

That's good.

It was lazy on my behalf to assume he wasn't a regular scorer as my recent memory of him is of a decent player who gets clog from Sheffield United fans for not scoring many. I remember him missing one from about three yards against us at Bramall Lane a few years ago and getting stick even though gubbed us 3-1 and our one was in the last minute!
