Another reason for fans to be wary about owners.

I think they will start a new team. Their fans are adamant that the cockney crooks won't get the ground as it is council owned, and they are refusing to sell to the previous club owners. Basically asset strippers who deliberately tried to kill then club to get their hands on the land. But they won't, and Hereford will reform with a phoenix club at
Edgar Street which is what their fans wanted in actual fact
Same as Chester did, kept the Deva and started again. When will these greedy land grabbers ever realise that Brighton was a one off. Fans will fight to the death and they are organised these days to stop this type of thing

Good luck to Hereford with their new club

Very sad but let's hope they keep Edgar Street, one of my best ever days out was the 3-1 win there in 1991 when probably my most favourite player, Paul Dalton tortured them all game and got the third.

Lovely area of the country too. Gutted for them but sure they'll be back. They're at the least a decent sized Conference club

I've never been a big fan of Hereford but I can't bring myself to actually dislike somewhere that makes such good cider.

Probably would happen to us if things had continued under IOR, along a similar timescale after exiting the FL

It would be a nice gesture if HUFC sent the newly formed club a complete football strip. Those of us old enough to remember the fire at Pools will understand why.

in 1973, the dressing rooms at Pools burnt down. For a few weeks Pools played in borrowed kit, the fire brigade lent us a strip if I remember rightly.

Pools were very very skint back then and couldn't afford to replace the kit so despite our local first division clubs doing nothing to help, Hereford United who were in their first season in the football league bought Hartlepool FC a full kit. Shirts, shorts, socks, boots, shin pads etc.

In that case it would be a cracking gesture.

Hereford fan here.

We would appreciate the kit, but maybe more than that the warmth arising from the support. If I'm honest I forgot our gesture. I think you would agree that we are past wishing bad things to happen to each other.

We have had much support and ideas from fans of Shrewsbury, Chester, Wrexham and Kidderminster to name but a few. Support from MPs but not the legal system. Support came from the Football Conference who refused us entry to that league. The FA and the Southern League have acted in an appalling way.

Make sure it doesn't happen to you. Remain vigilant. And don't say it isn't happening here or could never happen here.

I phoned Hereford FC in 1997 to wish them well and hoped they beat Brighton (cos every twat in the world wanted Brighton to stay up)

Brighton behaved appallingly with that Fans United day to reel us in to the same relegation battle, they picked the game against us cos they knew we would be easy meat with the ref and linesmen fully on their side. I have never witnessed such an appalling spectacle of favouritism and bias.
Yes we were poor but we were fucked over

So I wanted Hereford to send them down more than anything

Sadly not to be

I was there for their first game at the Vic If I remember right it was a Sunday over 5,000 present and they camped in our half all game and we lost 0-1 you remember the time with the stone work on the rink end wall and the white paint in the middle in line with the goals.

I remember the donation after the fire they were a fine team in the 1970's and got to the old second division.

It was a Saturday, there were 5000 present, Hereford took a quickly taken free kick, that was taken whilst our players were still remonstrating with the ref, they scored and all hell broke out behind the goal ( Rink End ) between fans and coppers, and fans from different parts of town ( West View and Catcote ). Hereford kicked there way out of Div 4 that season, fair play! 40 year later still the way to do it.

I always remember being at the away game when they beat us in the cup. They fans ran on the pitch and threw coins at us causing a few Poolies to invade the pitch.

That be said sorry they have went the way they have and I agree the strip would be a good gesture from that in the past
