Neither player is as good as Evans and neither player would need Pools as much as Evans would. If it was my decision I would sign Evans and take the gamble. I wouldn't be singing his name and it would be uncomfortable seeing kids with shirts with Evans name on the back but some team some where will give him a chance eventually.

Pools should be applauded for acting so quickly but I do think that when Evans signs for someone eventually after a game or two the media frenzy will die down. If he signed for York City tomorrow I wouldn't suddenly think that their club and supporters were all c u n t s.....

On a football level its a no brainer.
On a PR level it was potentially disastrous.

In terms of football I'm a bit gutted. I reckon we would have had a far better chance of staying up with him. Luke James wouldn't keep us up. Neither would Williams.
