Wilson takes over a team with too many losers and no hopers and starts a clear out and some people have a problem with that! We have all at some point acknowledged that we have too many passengers in the ranks and that a number, if not a majority have not performed for a year at the very least. Well lads, the holidays over and its time to start earning your corn.

Ritchie Humphreys was the sacred cow and it has been slaughtered - good!! It's at least 18 months overdue. Humphreys has not performed consistantly for that time and still got his place every week without any question of him. I for one am very please that Danny Wilson selects players that deserve to be picked.

We have gained four points in our last two games since he brought in the new lads and dropped the old. An average of 2 points a game would do me very nicely thank you! Moreover, it has only taken him half a dozen games to see that we had a squad with too much shite in it and he acted quickly. Again a great positive.

I'm feeling good about Pools under Wilson which is more that I can say for either of his two predessesors.

Dibs, whether he is a far better player is not a matter if debate, its a fact. What he isn't though is a far better performer.

Agree with your first post, Mr I, but am intrigued by the second. What's the difference between being a good player and a good performer?

As for Dibble's point about Port Vale being happy about Ritchie....might that not just mean that he played a better game for them on Saturday than he has been doing here recently?

Sometimes you've gone as far as you can in a job or with a club and it doesn't do either side any favours to persist.
Clearly Ritchie won't be playing under the same sort of pressure or approach as with Pools and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he becomes a massive hit there and they want to keep him. But that doesn't mean he could have done the same at Pools.

--- AND THAT'S THE END OF RITCHIE SAGA FOR ME ---

As for Danny Wilson, I said this the very first time he dropped Ritchie: he's building a new team and he means to do it his way. Rather than looking to replace our obvious weaknesses first, he's rebuilding from the roots. Good. Putting the foundations down before building seems like a sound plan to me. He'll no doubt address specific weaknesses in due course.

I was guilty last season of wanting to give Scotty time. In his case the time was to learn his job. I don't have that same feeling with Wilson. I want to give him time too, but it's because I think he knows where he's going and it will be impossible to get there quickly.

P.S., Mr I, I think you'll find that the "you lot" you refer to doesn't really consist of that many posters.

Just that he has the ability but has very rarely shown it over the past year.
