we batter one of the best teams in the division off the park, should have been 4up at half time, miss golden chances then very nearly lose it at the death.

Defensively we are brilliant. There isn't a finer defence in the division and all 4 players could easily make it in the division above, if not the one above that. Liddle was superb (Richie has never performed anything like that at left back and never will) and the other three were their normal selfs.

The midfield looks a bit stronger now but none of them performed as well as they could. Gibb looks good, he just wasn't match fit. Matty did well on the left (again, better than Richie would have done)

Upfront we were poor. Why the fuck was Joel dropped? and then once we take a striker off, we bring Bullock on and leave him upfront.

Phil Dowd was an absolute c*** of a referee, it could be argued that they should have had 3 players sent off. The guy was the last man for the penalty, there was a blatant elbow in the first half which just received a talking to then Rizzo hacked at Matty twice in the space of 5 seconds which were both bookable offences. I think we ended up with more cautions than them though..tit.

This is all getting very very boring Mr Wilson.

If he had done this we would absolutely walk this division.

Seeing as we haven't, it'll be mid-table.

Why did Wilson break up the central defensive PArtnership in the first place?

If he had always planned to dump Ritchie, why didnt Liddle play left back before?

was liddle playing left back an afterthought?

And why was joel dropped? He is twice the player brown is......even though he is nowhere near the player he was a year ago.

And why the fook have you not got a striker in?

FFS dibbs, how many matches did he break the 'partnership' up for?

Again nobody knows the 'real' deal with why Joel & RH were dropped, perhaps attitude has something to do with it?

Personally I think Wilson is trying to tighten things up first, I mean there is no point scoring goals if we ship even more at the other end, is there?

It's quite odd to see the knifes are out already for Wilson, like Dawlish Monkey pointed out, he has to pick up the pieces of a soul destroying season, and to me he seem to be heading in the right direction

I do agree with much of what you're saying but I personally don't think he has done anywhere near enough to bring in a new striker and it will cost us dearly

I thought Porter and Brown might do the job. But it's looking like Brown isn't quite ready yet and Porter has lost his shooting boots.

But I think it's pretty obvious Wilson is still looking at getting a striker in on loan. It's not because his approach for the Boro pair has failed that he's going to stop looking.
Unlike Scotty, however, I don't think he will settle for picking up the first kid that some obscure championship team offers out on loan.

I fear you won't find the kind of score-from-any-decent-chance striker we need overnight. And even if you do he's still got to want to join us. Do you really want Wilson to sign up someone without being confident he can do a job?

Freeing up Ritchie's salary could be the first move in that direction.
And before anyone starts you'd need a pretty good argument to convince me we need Ritchie more than we need goals. Apparently we're making them by the thousand but just not using them.

I think so, unless the player is a free agent
He might unearth another Gordon Watson, more chance of getting a man on KD Lang

Has the deadline for that not now passed?

No!! The papers made a complete balls-up of it. The loan transfer window doesn't close a week after the permanent transfer window; it OPENS - until 23rd Nov or thereabouts.

If true, then there is some hope!

Not exactly the same old predictable shite but I think I know what you mean on the striker front.

I just wish we could get a striker the size of Platt with the skills of Joel and Brown but wishes don't always come true do they.

Browny frustrates the hell out of me sometimes as he just wont chase a lost cause like proctor will (even though he is a lost cause) and he wont mix it sometimes to win back a lost ball. Joel cannot be fit or he would be playing from the start I still think all is not well yet with him on his fitness for some unexplained reason.

I thought this was an entertaining 0-0 apart from the ruddy penalty miss and think our new boys helped us up the pace a bit more and got us going.

Matty did do well on the left but he must look up a bit more and get in a better ball. Agree with you on our awesome defence and i thought this was one of Dimmi's better game as he pulled off some blinders.

Overall I think we are a smidge away from getting it right and this is not far from coming.

Now has anyone got a brick shit-house size striker for sale with all the necessary skills required.
