The rules:
You can have any band from any era
your ultimate Glastonbury headliners of all time
I'm finding this strangely difficult and have come up with...
Clash 1979
T-Rex Electric Warrior phase
and I cant really think of a third

Any ideas...?

I've always had a passion for shoegazing bands (ask Chip), I've got all of Lush's albums and have always fancied Miki Berenyi.

Here is Miki displaying the art of shoegazing.

I too had a thing for Miki.

My sister got me her autograph years ago, in a pub in London. It says something like 'I really wish you were here, love Miki.' At least I think that's what is says. It's, erm, difficult to read it now...

The Smiths
The Stone Roses
The Frank & Walters (honestly)

Little chance of any of that happening though.

I've always wanted to see The High Llamas but they rarely tour. Also got a soft spot for Prefab Sprout. I think Paddy McAloon is a vastly underrated songwriter. They never tour either.

Dandy Warhols
Black Sabbath
Violent Femmes

Maybe Mercedes.......

I saw the Cure as well - sometime between 89 and 91. We'd decided to get into the Glasto spirit and had all taken acid. And my mate spent the entire Cure set facing the wrong way, insistent he was watching them. Thirty thousand facing one way and one person the other.
I'm gonna add Hendrix to my Clash and T-Rex

Don't know what I was thinking, I think I was on the lines of who could still play now, so modifications:
Replace the Lips with Led Zepp
and the mighty Spree replaced with Sabbath.

I saw Polyphonic Spree there maybe four years ago, in the middle of the afternoon. For the occasion they'd swapped their white robes for red ones.

Still mad as cheese like....with Tim DeLaughter maddest of the lot. At least they all fitted on the Pyramid Stage.

Stonehenge was a good festival and much more spontaneous. Hawkwind played at least a couple of times - fabulous setting for their brand of space rock - they were all completely out of their skulls (allegedly) - excellent.

Any 3 from

The Clash
Bob Marley
Prince
Leonard Cohen

Im still hoping on hope that Leonard Cohen or Prince will do it.
The Polyphonic Spree disappointed me in 2003,saw them earlier in the year, enjoyed them, saw them at Glastonbury & the novelty had gone. They were a good idea, just a shame they didnt have good songs too.

I don't think Polyphonic Spree were a big stage band. They lost a lot in that sort of setting. On the Carling Stage at Leeds inside a marquee they were great, same as at the Leadmill and the Refectory in Sheffield. At Glasto that time there was no intensity. Must be a nightmare engineering them when you've got a twenty five minute change round and thirty mikes/DI's to set up. By the time you've got there the set's over.
