This is a genuine appeal on behalf of my brother who has suffered from a severe mental illness (schizophrenia) for the last 21 years. He lives in care in York but is a genuine Pools fan of 15 years standing who rarely misses a game home or away. In fact, he plans each away match with such military precision that he knows the fixtures months in advance and the routes to and from each away ground. Over the last two years his condition has improved enough that he is now allowed to travel to away games (even Torquay)and these expeditions have become the highlight of his week. Some of you will recognise him as I know he does chat to fans he meets at away grounds.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have a season ticket and isn't on the database so when all ticket matches arise he relies on his brother (me, otherwise known as fookwit) who is on the database to buy him a ticket and make sure he gets there.

Due to a very busy Easter here in Argyll, I didn't get round to getting him a ticket over the phone and will undoubtedly go to Hell or Darlo if he can't get to the game.

I am aware that a number of you on this board do have connections and can help if you consider the situation merits it.

I will try the club later in the week but have much higher hopes of a kindly bunkerite coming up with the goods. One ticket for anywhere in the ground. Hospitality at our hotel (during the close season of course) would reflect my gratitude

Please PM me if you can help or just phone the Hotel on 01700 821201

Bristol match. Got fingers firmly crossed that I'll get a ticket for him (and me!) for the Rochdale game on Friday by phone which I believe can be picked up from Rochdale ticket office. If not, then one firmly believes that one is well shafted on both accounts..!!

I am led to believe :sweeeet: that the club has absolutely no tickets left - comps included - and that they have already been unable to assist other peoples - and I suggest that the rink end would be a viable option for outer towners.

Thanks . Would definitely try the Rink End approach if the ticket was for me. Unfortunately, he's quite a large chap and could attract a bit of attention should Pools score...ie unlikely that his medication will stop him shouting "jolly well done boys" or words to that effect. Not sure I could live with myself if something did kick off and he was on the end of it.

Thanks for everyone's help so far. Rochdale looks sorted but still think he might miss out on Bristol Rovers. Someone out there in Poolie land can help. I didn't go to Pools on November 8th 1975 (Doncaster, 2-1, Rowlands & another/ scored) just for me brother to miss out on seeing a piece of silverware denoting CHAMPIONS for the first time ever in MB's hands......
HAWWWWWEEEEYYYY........get him a brief and you can have a free slap up meal PLUS B&B at a rather lovely hotel......
Just re-read this and looks like a total wind-up but just like Malcolm Poskett was worth every penny of 60 grand (the ones that matter will know what I mean) so does my brother deserve to get in a week on Sat.

In the style of the Churchill Dog........Oh Yes yes yes yes
Many thanks to all who offered help and in particular to Bluhart who has really come up trumps.
Now if only I could get hold of a ticket......but that might be pushing it a bit. Although I've always quite liked Bristol Rovers and they do play in blue and white.....
