Nah, it's some people who're coming over for a visit, they don't speak any English and they're going to run into a faceful of shite like everyone travelling through an airport these days but especially in England. I was thinking of suggesting they flew onto Europe and ferried over or got Eurostar. They've been told to expect an hour delay minimum at immigration even though they've jumped through hoops to get a visa. I thought everything was online now so there shouldn't be delays.

The ferries better than the airport, but if you come in through Calais for example, the paperwork is done before you board the ferry as Customs and Immigration do the checks at Calais...and as the ferry timings are so tight I would imagine the timings wouldn't be that much greater for non EU passport holders...... but arouse their suspicions and you're going no where

A friend we met in tunisia, who lives in belgium, visited after xmas, because he got a cheap flight via dublin to teeside,,.....

now an arab flying into the uk from belgium via dublin, with just a back pack for a weekend stay, and with no passport, as he travelled with his belgium ID card,, now he was delayed by immigration.....

Whats the point? I would have some sympathy with customers if they had given him a thorough search when he was trying to board the plane but after getting off seems a bit pointless.
